LSU freshman allegedly raped by unknown man who offered a ride home from Tigerland

LSU Police responded to Annie Boyd Hall on LSU’s campus at 1:48 a.m. in response to an alleged sexual assault. The student told police that an unknown older Black man approached her while she was walking home from Tigerland Saturday night.
The victim got into the man’s vehicle after he offered to drive her home, according to the incident report. The victim told police that she was sexually assaulted before being dropped off at her dorm.
LSU Police are looking for the man who is wanted for third-degree rape.
This is an ongoing investigation.

Walking home from a bar alone at 2am and getting into a car with a stranger is not a good idea.
Poor girl, that's a tough way to learn that lesson. I hope they catch the perp and he spends a long, long time in prison.

This is terrible...Gotta be more to that story....surely she didn't think that was a good idea or too drunk to think clearly.
Makes me worry about my daughters generation of high school seniors about to head off to college.

An absolutely terrible story but it's important that people understand that you NEVER get into a vehicle with a stranger. Even if you're being held at gunpoint, make them shoot you before you get into the vehicle. Almost nothing good happens once that car takes off with you in it.

Tigerland to Annie Boyd Hall is a 1.5 mile walk through some desolate areas. Not a great plan.

Hopefully the license plate was picked up on a plate reader, or was caught on surveillance outside of Annie Boyd Hall.

I hate the fact that the term sexual assault has been misused and misapplied, and that some asshats have decided we can’t say rape any more.
When I read the OP and saw Sexual Assault, I wondered if the girl had been rudely propositioned, or got flashed, or the guy got handsy, or if she was raped.

Where were the girls friends? Did she get separated somehow, did they leave without her, was she having phone issues, and couldn't hail a rideshare?
