Both these games will be glorified scrimmages by mid second quarter as both teams are that bad. Just don't charge me the same ticket price as bama, Fla, or AU, et al. Which LSU will do.

I know it’s a feel good story, but it’s really not a competitive match up and is just a money grab

What exactly is the difference in facing southern compared to utsa?

Unfortunately this is how these schools make there money to support their athletic department....there should be a 50 point rule...first team to 50 game over....
At least people can't bitch about the traffic after the game for a change...

UTSA is a weak FBS school and can give 85 scholarships
Southern is a weak FCS school and can give 63 scholarships

They played in 2017 and UTSA won 51-17. It was 48-0 at halftime.

Nah, literally the award that Coach O won this year is called the “Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year” award. Grambling means much more to football than Tech.

A big day in Louisiana sports history. About time. As one who attended LSU during integration times, applause to the AD. .

Funny every time I asked if we ever played A AWAC team ....

Also remember a lot of our players played in high school with a lot of player from Southern & Grambling. I'm sure there are some families that have developed close bonds coming up through the youth and high school football divisions. Helps to strengthen those programs in their respective conferences and certainly doesn't do any damage to ours.

You’re missing the point here. They both don’t matter when it comes to playing at LSU. UTSA, Southern, Grambling etc. The only ones that matter are Texas.

Meh on Grambling. Guess they had to do it so Grambling wouldn't bitch.

Grambling's football tradition far exceeds Southern.

I’m sure their football program can use the probably 2+ million we will pay them.

Pretty sure Southern’s price will be below that.

a chunk of the money we throw at smaller schools is to cover their expenses for the game (travel, hotels, meals, etc).

what’s it cost Southern to drive across town?
$30 or so.
And they can eat and sleep at home.

Eddie Robinson was an important figure.
doesn’t mean the school he worked for over 20 years ago is on the same level of importance or respect that he was/is.

Grambling has one of the greatest college football coaches of all time in it's history. Grambling has had 120 players drafted into the NFL draft, including a Super Bowl MVP, and heisman trophy finalist.

Latech doesn't have a coach in its history that comes close to Eddie Robinson. Latech has had 75 players drafted into the NFL draft, and has Terry Bradshaw.

Is this a serious comparison?
