It’s been a long time since I felt it this strongly in our favor. I’m pumped about everything. Great job by the staff getting these guys back for senior year and great decisions by the players.

Yeah man I actually feel like we are back in the national conversation. LSU is making it's way back to being a consistent top 10 team. When John Emery gets going and Derek Stingley acclamates himself to the college game I think we will be rolling right along.

Agree. DW would be the icing on the cake, but either way, this staff deserves a shite ton of credit for getting these guys back. You can’t have championship runs without depth and leadership. This had to happen for the LSU football program to turn the corner.

Beating Texas is gonna be a huge push.

But as always, the west lies through Alabama. And until we can beat them we don’t have shite.

I've been saying that LSU is trending up. Beating bama is coming. It's the beginning of the end of Bama's dominance.

Agree to some extent. Guys coming back is a move in that direction, though. Not saying we beat bama this year, but if our upperclass nucleus continues to return each year, we’ll get better and better as pieces fall into place and it’ll happen eventually. Also, going 11-1 and just looking better each game would still feel good even if bama gets the best of us a few more times.

The problem lies within the system, because as of now, even if we beat Bama once, we’ll have to beat them again.

No other conference really has this issue. Bama has every lucky break go their way, so the only way we’ll get through them is brute force and making them quit

Agree 100%. Feel good about our Tigers!!!

The NeverOs and NegaTigers have done their absolute best to derail recruiting and taint the national narrative on LSU, but our players and coaches have blocked out the noise and continue doing what no arm chair idiot can do...win games, recruit studs, and build a winning culture.

Proud of these Tigers. Love DW no matter what he decides. Great player, great ambassador for LSU, and a great person!

As long as Aranda stays on staff, the defense will be solid.
The offense continues to be the weak spot on this team. The offense still needs to make a change in philosophy which includes finding an innovative OC not a retread. At this time, I don’t see this happening. Plus, we just lost our wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator in Jerry Sullivan.
Not sure how much more Burrow will improve when he again faces defenses in the SEC. Playing and beating UCF has given most a false sense of security.

This is why winning the bowl game is so big for a team on the rise.

I don’t agree with this. If Georgia had beaten Bama in the SEC championship I don’t thinkl Bama would have made the playoffs. They should have, because losing a close one to a top 3 team is better than getting drilled by Purdue or losing to Texas, but the committee would have gone with the conference champion, Oklahoma, rather than trhe second SEC team.

It feels good to be relevant again. 10 win seasons and win a NY6 bowl. Getting guys to come back is a sign of a good culture, which ultimately falls on Ed. He has the guys buying in.

All you guys that think this is the end of Alabama’s dominance in the SEC and the NCAA are sadly mistaken. Once again, Alabama went undefeated in the SEC and played in the National Championship Game. Plus they are ranked number one in recruiting for how many years? Until Saban leaves or retires, Alabama will remain at or near the top of the college football.

This seems to happen every year. LSU gets a good recruiting class, maybe a couple big players return for their senior year, they make some supposedly good hire in the coaching staff and everybody goes nuts, takes their pants off and gets a hard-on.

Then the games start. LSU looks great going against Lighthouse of the Blind, Little Mother Mary's Orphanage and St Thomas's House of the Poor & Infirmed. Then SEC play starts or worse yet, November rolls around and LSU can't rely on out talenting everybody and now the poor offensive coaching and lack of QB development is devastatingly and excruciatingly highlighted in embarrassing fashion.

LSU gets their shite pushed in.

The fanbase divides.

LSU finishes with a somewhat disappointing but serviceable record and the process repeats.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Next year U, baby!

“What if it takes 10 years?”

Do what you have to do. Rome wasn’t built in a day philosophy, so to speak.

But there are several factors that show that the foundations have been laid.

Roster holes are being filled more evenly than recent years. OL attrition and poor evaluations have dug a hole at a critical area of the team. I think that we have started to recover.

QB issues have trended up. So has depth at DL. LB status is good. DBs seems to be in championship level trajectory.

More aggressive play calling, like several Bama opponents have shown, can in itself “turn the Tide”.

NOW, as for Bama’s status. The shine has been knocked off of their shiny armor of invincibility. Saban was observed looking old and defeated. He will need to rebuild his staff, which makes continuity an issue. Players bolting to the NFL will impact next year. It can cause a trend of “not staying” at the previous level. If other teams can hold most of their own players “in state”, Ga and La. specifically, the Bama recruiting will be more difficult. Any one of these factors alone, do not create the change. The composite effects will add up to level the field. Not being dominant weakens their “brand”.

It ALL adds up to Bama being vulnerable. Getting thumped by Clemson this year, and losing twice in three years, has given psychological boost to others. That can translate to the field.

I like our chances.
