LSU Football first for custom jerseys

Players getting paid for jersey sales first team to opt in!

Pretty neat actually. I’ve never been a “buy a jersey” guy as an adult but I’m sure a ton of people will buy and that’s pretty cool.

NIL is ruining college football

Better than the university and Nike solely making money when they’ve got “generic” numbers of the prominent players on campus.

This isn’t professional sports but maybe now it is. Other than mom and dad and and family members why in the hell would someone want to buy a jersey with an 18 year old college kids name on it?

I would imagine the players will make what will amount to peanuts on this.

This is the good side of NIL.
If people are out buying tons of #9 jerseys because that's what Burrow wore (or whoever their favorite player on the team is), then his name should be able to be on it and get some of the money from it.

I can’t wait for the jerseys to look like nascar suits where they have patches of different sponsors all over them
We should do that so kids can make even more money
Maybe replace the lsu on the helmet with a decal of your most generous sponsor

Yes, comparing football jerseys to nascar is certainly a comparison that a very intelligent person would make.
Why didn't you say sponsorships all over their jerseys like they have in the NFL? Oh wait....

Collegians are not yet Pro. Let them be Collegians before they become Pro.

NFL players receive 2/3 of the money generated and the 1/3 goes into a pot for players that may not sell as many. This may be peanuts in grand scheme, but players deserve right to make money off of this.

Student athletes put in a full work day and have normally finished 1-2 things before most normal students are even awake. If a student on a music scholarship is allowed to make money performing in a band, student athletes should be able to make some money off of this.

Transfer portal will really dampen the amount of potential sales. Starters jump ship for literally no reason now.
Take Eli for example, balled out as a freshman. Ok, maybe I'll buy his jersey, but let's make sure he still balls Soph year. Level of plays keeps up, he seems happy. Great, let's buy his jersey. Boom transfer portal. Same for Max. Same for many athletes across the country, including the all conference CB we just brought in.

This is what got NIL started in the first place. Guys wanted to sell their jerseys and it was illegal with the ncaa. If they had just let them do this back then maybe we aren’t looking at the giant sh&t show we have now?

This right here. All of it. So many grown arse men got their feelings hurt by some teenagers going to aTm that they are now lashing out against everything.
