More evidence that Alleva needs to go. LSU athletics continue to decline. On the bright side, Alabama didn't fare too well either.

With women's gymnastics as its only SEC championship of the 2017-18 school year, LSU finished 10th overall in the annual GateHouse Media Southeastern Conference All-Sports standings.

The Tigers finished ahead of Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Missouri, schools with the smallest athletic budgets in the SEC.

This is the head of the snake tbh. No significant improvements can be made (both to athletics and the university as a whole) until he is GONE.

That is pitiful and unacceptable. It’s gotten to the point of embarrassing.

National championship in football and dead arse last in every other sport is still a huge success.

Atleast fricking A is fighting for flagship funding. That’s the only reason I’m not ready to whip out my pitchfork

None of this has to do with athletics
All F King and JBE do is fear monger. You actually think if we raised the taxes JBE wants to its going to go to LSU?
No the money is just going to line some politician's pocket

We are top 4 in athletic revenue (all self funded) and bot 10 in results

I think about this a fair amount and I'm not surprised to see these results. Our athletic dept is a far cry from what we like to think of it as being. We envision ourselves as an elite program but we have fallen off and are not at the level we were years ago. Definitely need a new, strong AD and folks on the board who actually care about LSU. Hard to believe we have people on the BOS who went to Tulane and have no affiliation to LSU whatsoever

BINGO! None of F. King and JBE's woe is me rhetoric should have anything to do with the athletic dept. F. King should thank his lucky stars that he is the president of a major university whose athletic dept is FULLY self funded. The AD isn't taking ANY money away from the academic side. Unfortunately, the athletic dept. is used as a pawn in the daily/yearly posturing of the narrative that LSU is "broke"

Baseball was in the finals of the CWS last season. Softball was in the CWS last season. Basketball finally returned to the postseason and obviously will be much improved this upcoming season.

Are we really that doom and gloom? Y'all that upset over tennis, golf, swimming, etc? Or is this the copout thread since its not as cool to bash on football this week with the Burrow news?

This is what has always stumped me. I feel like one of the requirements to be on the BOS should be to be an LSU alum. The fact that one of the big shot callers is a Tulane alum is unbelievable. They really think a hodgepodge of people from different schools truly have LSU's best interests in mind? I'm not suggesting a conspiracy where these people are intentionally sabotaging LSU, but it makes no sense to have shot callers who have no ties to LSU whatsoever.

Being the LSU Board of Supervisors (of which half have nothing to do with LSU) is the one giving F. King Alexander's rubber stamp approval and tbe Governor puts in his own puppets for the Board of Supervisors, F. King Alexander is far from the head of the snake. MUCH has to change before anything of significance will change.

That's supposed to be our signature sport. We should make the finals every so often... we hadn't made it since, what, 09?
Hosting a regional should be a foregone conclusion, hosting a super regional should be demanded, making the CWS should be the goal every season.

yay, look around at the SEC this season. Just about everyone is still alive.

squeaked into the NIT as a road team, does not mean "we're back".

We're one of the few athletic departments that turns profits in 3 sports, and yet we're near the bottom of the conference. Yep, that's bad.
