"Nothing ventured, nothing gained"

We can always keep things status quo and beat the weaker teams on the schedule to pad that W-L record, Or we can try to get better with change.

Are Georgia fans a "laughing stock"? Is there any difference in our respective situations in your mind?

The coaching staff has been a laughing stock for years on national TV. So what?

Most coaches will understand we demand excellence and we are a top 5 team. If they are intimidated by that we don't want them and they wouldn't come here anyway.

Nobody is laughing. College football fans around the country know our team underperforms and that Les is likable and quirky, but a poor game day coach. Elite programs like ours have higher expectations. People understand that.

You have a point, what coach would go to a school that gets some of the best talent in the country, and cares about winning national championships..

Pretty sure this isn't correct.

If you don't understand why fans are upset then you don't understand football or sports in general. We are vastly more talented than other teams, but our coaching errors and stubbornness holds our players back from reaching and playing at their full potential.

Most pumpers won't understand this post.

Which is why I think most realistic LSU fans hold, or have held, high-paying, high-pressure corporate jobs.

Most pumpers likely hold down the third shift at the Dairy
Queen.

Why do I think that? Because pumpers feel that excuses about Miles and the program--"he's gonna change!" ... "who else could we get?" ... "we ALMOST beat Bama!" ... carry weight in what is really a multi-billion dollar business with millionaire employees.

It is indeed a "what have you done for me lately?" culture.

When I was in dealership management, my boss, the dealer-operator, wasn't interested in bullshite excuses if the numbers were down. He wasn't interested in the economy being bad, times are tough, etc. He looked at the bottom line and if it wasn't what it should be, he got someone else.

This isn't cute little college boys playing a game. This is a business and Joe Alleva tries to wring every last dollar out of LSU fans.

Therefore, expectations are high, and it is indeed,

"Les, what have you done for me lately?"

And the answer is, for a program the stature of LSU's with the facilities, money invested and salaries ...

Not near enough.

I don't understand this line of reasoning.

Do you really think the Curly-era ineptitude is just around the corner? Any 18 year old right now has been watching LSU play huge games on national TV since ~2000; you know, when they were about 3 years old. In other words, recruiting will be fine for the next 3-5 years.

That only leaves the 'scheme/system' issue. Any coach that is willing to adapt their system/scheme to the talent Les has already compiled will be absolutely fine.

It's a fricking business plain and simple. The LSU football program is one of the largest business for they city of Baton Rouge. You have a guy that can't adapt and causing the business to suffer. That's how many of the large donors look at Miles.

When we lose to 2 in-division opponets the way we did, I don't care about %'s, something is very wrong.

While other teams improve, learn, and tweak as the season progresses LSU stays the same (or maybe even regresses some).

I can't understand why it takes Cam so long to give offense a play. I have my doubts about him.

Some posters have decided that this year is the year to determine Miles's future. You have decided next year is the year to determine his future. Then you call the posters who chose this year 'a-hole fans'.

Who died and left you in charge?

Some people recognize futility long before others do!

It's the fact that we've been having the same problems for years and he HASN'T changed.

That's the reason people are asking for his head...

Yes, they will. Money is the great persuader. Someone will bend over backward to take our seven figures a year, awesome facilities and built-in recruiting advantages.
