When you have a below .500 winning % (overall) and .260 winning % (SEC) in three season and every other SEC HC during that time has reached the NCAA Tournament you don’t get the benefit of the doubt
You also aren't going to make the improvement that needs to be made with the same roster. An entire overhaul needs to be done, which means the vast majority of the current roster needs to go. Yet this board will melt on every single one of these when in reality there's only one, maybe two, that are worth actually being upset over.

It doesn't matter. This guy has proven he cannot compete at a high level in portal recruiting and does not maximize the talent he gets...

This is why I’ve said one of his worst abilities is his talent identification

Anyone who watches college basketball regularly and is familiar with NIL isn't surprised by Chest leaving. Some bigger team missing a player with his skillset and doesn't need him to contribute much on offfense is going to drop a huge bag.
Love that we are supposed to roll with the idea that he is both not good enough for us but also good enough for a bigger team to pay him a bunch for his skillset.

McMahon will finally get to year 1 when he gets to his second contract.

I've noticed further along in the thread that you still haven't provided proof that we DID NOT pay competitively in NIL.
If you're not too busy, please provide the proof, and no, our marathon running AD'S insinuation to that effect IS NOT PROOF.
I was told by a UR booster, and a couple of other posters on here have "verified" that Bailey was paid $450k to come here.
Now I won't assume that you're intelligent enough to realize this, but anyone who "knows ball" can tell you that Bailey was AT BEST fourth in line of mouths to feed with NIL.
The math on the bullshite NARRATIVE that we were paying peanuts in NIL doesn't add up.
Enlighten is with your wisdom, great one.

He didn’t identify Morant though.

Yep. The story I've always heard was one of his assistants identified Morant, then pressed McMahon to sign him.
However Mad, to be COMPLETELY FAIR, McMahon did offer and sign him to a scholarship no matter how it happened.
It's literally one of the few feathers he has in his cap.

If someone doesn't do something now, the basketball team won't be back in the tournament for the rest of this decade.

Yea they told the story when Morant was drafted. McMahon did sign him, he deserves credit for that but he didn’t discover him.

He's a luxury we can't afford at this point. We need an SEC-ready starting 5. Right now we have one SEC-caliber starter in Jalen Reed, who is coming off a torn ACL. Collins and the Millers are fringe starting 5.

Dji Bailey was a 5th year senior. If he still needed to be taught basic basketball at that age, it's never going to happen and certainly not in one offseason
So why did your McMan identify him as a big money transfer target ya frickin spoonbill

Remember that we only had $2mil in NIL for basketball and dudes saying we gave Bailey a quarter on it. The bullshite these guys spew is hilarious.

Mikey Williams gone. What's the o/u on players who will return? 2? 3?

Would be lying if I didn’t say I cheered up a little thinking about never seeing Bailey play basketball again

Even a good coach would have a hard time basically losing your roster and turning it into a tourney team in one year
So we’re really supposed to sit here and believe McMahon with a slightly increased budget is going to bring in a roster big time recruits/transfers, coach them up and develop some semblance of chemistry, and make the tourney ? Even though his track record indicates he’s never come close to doing any of those things in his first 3 years?
Sounds like a great plan Scott….
