LSU Depth Chart - Final Scrimmage (8/22/2026) [1 image]

Here is the latest update to my working LSU Depth Chart.
General:
• Height/Weight not updated
• In green I am listing the incoming transfer(s) under the temporary restraining order ruling.
Offense:
• The 3-Deep is based upon Matt Moscona's second-hand report.
• He gave a "for what's it's worth" order for the 3rd string O-Line. I don't know where to place the rest of those guys, so they have fallen under the RG and RT spots.
• Since we have not been allowed to see any 11-on-11 footage, I am uncertain about which specific position each WR is manning. Therefore, I reflect the reports I've heard as best as I can.
Defense:
• Moscona seems confident that Jhase Thomas will start at Safety, though Blake Ruffino has reported seeing Faheem Delane running with the ones.

Thanks for the hard work on depth chart. When we play Clemson, do you really think Dylan Carpenter starts over Jordan Ross and Lamar Brown? Is Carpenter having that great a camp as has been reported or is Jordan Ross falling below expectations at LSU as he did at Tennessee?
Ross got the reputation of being an under performer at Tennessee so I guess Carpenter beating him out is no great surprise. Beating out Lamar Brown to start, even though Brown is just a freshman, is pretty impressive if true.
I hope this is more about Carpenter making a big leap from his sophomore to junior year that it is Ross not being worth the ton of money LSU spent on his NIL package. From what I understand, LSU paid Ross starter money, not back up.
I’ll be surprised if Carpenter actually starts against Clemson over Ross and Brown. Tip of the hat to him if he does. He would have beat out two highly ranked five stars.

For whatever it’s worth…our o-line looks very lean and athletic. Not big fat sloppy like in the past. These guys almost look too small. But the way our offense runs…these lineman have to be athletic and quick and able to get to the second level and block in space. Can’t be fat and do that. It’s a new look but it’s exciting!

I am very excited about many things. But I feel like the Prince is going to take us to the promised land on defense.

Too small? The LSU starters on the o-line average height is about 6’ 5” and the average weight is over 310 lbs. Yikes. How things have changed. When I went to LSU 250 lbs was a good size for an offensive lineman, we had centers weighing 210.
The thought that 6’ 5” 310 lbs looks small to some these days makes me feel really old. Lol. What will the average lineman size be in another 30 years? 6’ 7” 360 lbs? It’s freaking amazing how big these guys have gotten.

Seemed like Cooley was out there with the ones today more than Jhase.

I think Cooley is the stating Nickel based upon the packages he ran with the ones in while Jhase is the starting true FS

Not a biggie but just for tidying it up you have Jackson Harris and Jayce Brown transfer schools the wrong way round.

Thanks man, very well put together. I’m really big on Dylan Carter this year. Similar track to Bordelon and a chance to put on this year!
