That's complete bullchit lol. I seem to remember even the great nick saban chastising fans for leaving games early at bama at the height of their success.

We just don't have a good fanbase anymore. Stadium clears out in the second half almost every game, and it doesn't matter if we're playing for something or not.
Look at Auburn tonight. 1 conference win coming in, and they stayed the whole fricking game into OT. South Carolina also does that no matter what.
Sure, people are going to have all sorts of excuses- not a big game, nothing to play for etc. My answer- if you need your team to be playing for something in order to stick the whole game, you just aren't a great fan.

Side effects of scraping all the money out of a fan as possible.
Plus going completely corporate, sucks.
Fans are given tickets and aren't invested as much as before.
It's a bad product with an overpaid coach that has chased some local talent off the team. It all adds up to make a full day there and a full game, a miserable time

We're playing next week to get to 8-4, 5-3 in the SEC. Not a playoff team, but that's still a winning record in the SEC, and just for the record only 1 game off our records the past 2 seasons.
As for Kelly being overpaid- right now he's 4th in the conference in salary. There are 8 guys making 9 mil a year or higher. Venebles is 9th at over 8 mil.
Kelly wasn't job-hunting, he was quite happy at Notre Dame winning 10-11 games a year. We paid to pull him away from there, because we wanted an experienced guy capable of running the program (not just coaching the games, but everything else involved in that) after Orgeron blew things up.
He's got 7 years left on that contract; in a couple of years he's probably going to be lower in the conference. Heupel probably jumps him in a year or so. If Venables can't get OU going, the next guy there probably will too.
