Really, what year did we finish Top 10 for Miles last?
In his a last full year, Miles was 9-3 with a cancelled game against McNeese, so it's fair to assume we'd have been 10-3.

A year in which we finished #16/#17 in the polls. Do you think that's the same as finishing #6/#7 in the polls? Last year's schedule was also tougher than 2015's.

10-3 is 10-3.
ETA: We weren't actually the 6th best team this year. It's an empty ranking.

It didn't take long for the dumbfricks to come out of the woodwork did it?

I just saw it and was about to post, the buy out is the worst part. And it will get passed unanimously. This athletic dept. is awful!
Is the buyout bad because you are incapable of reading past the $10M number? The buyout is fine, and is actually an improvement over what it currently is.

Clearly not when one year we get ranked #16/#17 and another #6/#7. Every year is different, especially schedule wise. In 2015 we got 5 SEC home games, which certainly helps. We also played an undefeated UCF team in bowl game vs. 7-5 Texas Tech back then.

Par for the course with this administration.
let's not overreact to everything
the raise isn't much, at all. He had a good season in 2018. A small raise and extension takes away some ability for enemies to negative recruit.
I was against the hire at the time too, but this is a nothingburger.

I get the raise and extension portion. He did a good job last season. The buyout is what kills me. Why the frick is a coach that there is no competition for getting a $10 mil buyout? It's insanity.

The terms on the salary are in line for who we have. However, the 10mill buyout is just not a good look for Joe Alleva in this particular moment.

Neither ranking means anything.

Except when we win a national title one time
Oh and yeah, playing in the Texas bowl is equivalent to playing in a New Years Six bowl

I don't think O deserves a raise or an extension. But if we absolutely HAD to do it, I at least like that his buyout will be more than manageable after the 2020 season. That essentially says that if we haven't accomplished anything of note after year 4, we can easily move on.
I mean, I'm sure we'll find a way to frick it all up. But I can live with this, on paper at least.

Yea, rankings mean nothing when they literally determine what bowl game you play in

It means one year was clearly better than the other.
Is being ranked #15 better than being unranked?

That's not an apples to apples comparison, but you already knew that.
10-3 and not winning the West in '15 is 10-3 and not winning the West in '18.
