I just don't understand how anyone who cares about lsu football can think the board member coming out like this with games left to play is a good decision.
It doesn't make lsu look good. It makes the board look like unprofessional imbeciles. It also provides a huge distraction for the team.
100% agree.

We might see the Les of our dreams tomorrow. He might pull out every play in the book, including fake punts and trick plays.

Funny you decided to skip one I asked for.
Les was 34-6 from 2005-2007. And Les was 13-1 in 2011. That's spectacular.
Les got paid for those years, just like he's getting paid now. But the lack of context that posters like you spew is disturbing.

Maybe this has been said already, but sounds like they are trying to get him to quit.

If Miles were to finish up 2-0 (the premise of the OP), we'd effectively be 10-2 for this year.
You couldn't make a logical argument against Miles based on his record.

I don't live in Louisiana. Good try though.

"Agreed. But i do think he shouldn't be fired for losing two, but next year will probably be sec championship or bye bye"
HaHa..This will be said next year also. Whoever is the coach next year HAS to win the SEC. The team is stacked next year with almost no upperclassmen this year

Harris? Or are you counting on Felipe Franks to be QB?

I do think they have to be careful. You let a guy go coming off a sugar bowl year and other coaches will notice.
If we go to the Sugar Bowl Les is staying.
But I think any coach you get should think he can win here (it is not like we were stopping Miles from doing what he wanted to do or meddling in team operations) and there are worse things than being let go with several years left on a 4 million a year contract. LSU would be worth the risk.

Ronnie is astute politically, would not be talking 'out of school'.

Lot of people in this thread pretty cocky we are gonna finish with 2 losses and head to Nola. I think we split the games and have to wait this things out in a pretty excruciating way. Miles wouldn't have it any other way.
Fwiw board member is insane for going on the record with this.

Bama ran off a coach who was undefeated going into the last game of the year. I can't remember his name, but he was the former Kentucky coach.
Bill Curry....and I believe he got a brick through his window one season...yet they still make the hires because it's a program with all u could need as a coach....so is LSU.

Again, you skipped one I asked for.
I also enjoy how you exclude SEC records, SECCG appearances and SEC Titles.
I'll help you just a bit since YOU ARE on the Miles v. Saban narrative.
Saban: 5 Years at LSU. 2 SEC Titles, 1 NC Title.
Miles: 11 Years at LSU. 2 SEC Titles, 1 NC Title.
LSU record last 2 seasons prior to Saban: 7-18.
LSU record last 2 seasons prior to Miles: 22-4.
Time between LSU SEC Championships:
1988-2001: Archer/Saban. 12 seasons.
2001-2003: Saban/Saban. 1 Season.
2003-2005: Saban/Miles. 1 Season.
2005-2007: Miles/Miles. 1 Season.
2007-2011: Miles/Miles: 4 seasons.
2011-20??: Miles/Miles: 4+ seasons.
We'll skip the Bama, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Mississippi State losses this time around. The only SECw teams to NOT have a win against LSU the last 2+ years are in order: TAMU. That's it. We're better than TAMU, thank God.

Come on seriously? So many other factors with SEC and National championships. The only indiscriminant number is regular season record - i.e. the only thing a coach has full control over.

How you manage to miss the context during either of these coaches' times at LSU is shocking to say the least.
Why don't you just compare Les' record to the coach at IUPUI?
