Hindsight doesn't make it clear at all; only if you assume the outcomes. Hindsight Is typically predicated on the previous decision working out poorly. I could assume we lose both games just as easily as you assume we win both.

Odds of success are long against anyone in the loser's bracket. Doubt they beat Vandy or TCU without lange.
In the past 10 years, 4 of the 20 participants in the championships series have come from the loser's bracket.
1 2006 Oregon State (Champion)
2 2007 North Carolina
3 2010 South Carolina (Champion)
4 2012 South Carolina
4/20 = 20%
Long odds? Sure. Impossible odds? No.

Sounds like #LSU will start LHP Zac Person against #TCU.

I don't mean to take anything away from Lange's incredible 2-9, but since we're assuming...... just swap our Sunday/Tuesday pitchers, with their respective performances. That's the least assuming what-if, based on actual numbers.
How's the bar-b-q?
Lange's first inning 3-spot was enough to lose Sunday, regardless of what he did 2-9. Poche's Sunday outing obviously was more than enough to lose Tuesday. We're fortunate it didn't go that way and we still have at least one more game to play as it turned out.

I like it... Person has the best stuff of any of our available arms. Going to be interesting to see how long he will be allowed to go.

Not a bad strategy. Get a good 3-4 innings out of Person and it's a bonus. He gets in early trouble and let Bain take over his best position as a long reliever. You get fortunate and Bain can take you to Bugg and the backend of the pen. Godfrey and Reynolds are both available also.

I'm guessing he gets 1-2 innings and then Bain comes in.

Vandy can be beat twice. Just ask Belmont (RPI 164)

In hindsight it was clearly a mistake to throw Poche first.
Still with this ridiculousness?

Always tough to come through the losers bracket. LSU will give themselves a shot to win if they continue the double-figure hitting and play error-free ball. Hale needs to get it going tomorrow and I've a hunch he will. Nice to still be playing.
