Go research all the MLB 1B and see how many very athletic, hit for average ones they have. Might help the confusion.

It’s nothing against how he plays it. Just the way that position is at the next level.

Milazzo just isn't any good and is a black hole in the lineup. He didn't improve this year. Is it really worth watching him bat .135 all year?

I know he went .227 in a small sample size. 27 ABs.

Do we really have a player named Tanks? I mean I keep up but I missed something. If it’s true that’s awesome

If you think he won’t be a 1st baseman at the next level..I think you’ll be disappointed. But we’ll just have to wait for a few years to see who’s right…

I won’t be disappointed either way. Just saying they don’t put athletes of his caliber at 1B at the next level. They use it for less athletic power hitting style players.

Any SS can go play first and look like the best 1B in the league. There is a reason you don’t see that though. They are more valuable at other positions. Got to remember these are pros. Most pro IF at the MLB level won’t really need a 1B that is a magician with the glove. They can make throws to the chest more times than not.

You can’t say he didn’t improve this year. He barely played because of injury. Also the limited time he did play he looked much better at the plate. He had productive at bats even we he got out by hitting behind runner and bunting. If he is healthy that is what you will need from him offensively while he plays plus defense.

C Milazzo
1B Morgan
2B Pineda
SS Young
3B Thompson
LF Dugas
CF crews
RF Pearson

DH Tanks

To start at least.

Kling will push the OF but I think the guys in the inf are pretty set. They couid be swapped around, as you have 3 guys now with SS exp

And one of his hits should have been an error.

He was terrible in the spring & fall too

I hope someone else emerges

I think Thompson, Young, Guidry, and Pineda will get looks at several spots. Dugas and Pearson, too.

Thompson - 2B, 3B
Young - 2B, SS, 3B
Pineda - 2B, SS
Guidry - 2B, SS, 3B
Dugas - 3B, 2B
Pearson - 2B

Although the word is Skenes will only pitch, I think he and a few other guys get looks behind the plate.

Kling will get looks in the corner OF spots.

You have to consider it. Going all offense last year didn't get us over the hump. If you get the pitching set and the hitting is as advertised outside of Milazzo, you can settle for him as a defensive guy and take whatever he gives on offense.

I think the MLB has to play their big non athletic guys there. The home run mashers.

Idk everyone has a DH now.

If he was just a good first basemen I wouldn’t see it.

I also Think he can be coaches for more power. He isn’t physically done, he’s shown some pop. I feel Like he was choked up on the bat every at bat last season and just never swung for power.

Guidry for sure

Dugas & Pearson aren’t infielders on this team tho

They have to look at it. Thompson may not cut it anywhere, and you have Kling and other freshman that may. We know what we're gonna get out of Dugas and Pearson.

I don't think you see Tommy White in the field much. Berry showed that you can hit your way in and stay in the 1st round. Tanks is here to bang and win on the big stage.

Ya but as bad as Thompson was those guys are not even close to being upgrades defensively.

They aren’t going to have a repeat of last year, I think that was pretty clear on how hard they hit the portal for middle infielders.

Not sure. Pineda is really slick, too.

I think I Berry more showed your can be a mediocre fielder as long as the bat is there and still not hurt your stock.

I don’t think Jay told Tommy he had a slot, but I do think he told him he has a shot and I don’t think he’d come here without thinking he’d play field instead of going home like we all were told he was
