"Also: Mainieri taking a look at freshman Jake Slaughter at first base
#LSU"

I LOVE this move. Slaughter and Smith were really close at 3B, but Smith is better defensively at that spot. And Slaughter has been playing too good not to get a shot somewhere. But then you have Adams crushing (bad defense) and another freshman in Templet who is raw but can hit the a ton and will be the 1B of the future once Kramer and Freeman go and Slaughter/Smith take up the middle.

People wondering about Deichmann: He sucked at 1B and is moved to RF where he's more likely to play at the next level anyway. Should be nice having at least one arm out there. With Pap batting so well, Breaux showing is potential, and Romero needing a bat, odd men out? Jordan twins and Reid.

Bummer, because he punched well above his weight last season and it was fun to watch.

I like this move. Slaughter is a great athlete so the transition should be an easy one.

Soooo many bats. This team should be a lot of fun to watch.

The twins choked repeatedly. Reid wasn't great but at least he came through a couple of times in clutch situations.

I like this a lot. Smith and Slaughter both can bat, and play defense excellent. Was talking with Duplantis's dad a couple weeks ago, and he said Antoine think Smith is the real freakin deal. Glad to see PM making the right moves to get both of these guys on the field. Just goes to show how elite are recruits are when we can bench three vets.

Wish Adams could get it together defensively. That bat is pretty nice, could possibly deal with the number of SOs, though I don't think PM could.

Everything is stacked. Need to solidify a 3rd starter and we should be golden. Also, we have a black player again so winning it all is guaranteed

Yea I know man.

But he's a golden boy on this board for some reason.

Y'all thinking Adams at DH?

About time. I thought he would have been moved back there mid last season after some of his early defensive struggles.

Bryce Jordan had the 3rd best OBP in the SEC last season.
Reid had the 6th best OBP in the SEC last season.

Maybe your analysis will prove to be correct, but unless these two forgot how to play baseball in the offseason I would expect both to start in 2017.

There will be be plenty of AB's to go around, we'll probably see heavy rotation in non conference games.

Romero will DH before Adams. All indications are that Pap can hit now.
