From what I can tell, we're allowed to carry 40 players next year (willing to be fact checked on that, I don't know for certain if that is correct).

Based on that we're currently at 56/40 as of today. That includes everyone in the signing class and on the current roster. Once guys sign their deals, I'll subtract them. The actual number is much closer to 40, but this is a news aggregator thread and not a speculation thread.

Kling has only played in 1 game.

Your 100% correct, here's to hoping he reduces his K's this year. Was mainly talking about JJ.

Yes, but it won't be Kling or Jones.

You are correct on the 40 number for 2024 roster. Not sure if it’s 35+5 or just 40. The press release from the NCAA implies it’s just 40

The OP is updated with the draft positions of everyone taken (except for Dugas).

I will update the categories as guys sign or publicly state that they won't be signing.

PP Thanks for the update. I saw you indicated that the roster could contain 40 players. I was wondering how to count red shirts against that number. I seem to recall this year that players with injuries that weren't going to play this year might not have counted against the number, but I don't remember for sure. Also, post-Covid the rules seemed to have changed a good bit and certain Covid extended players didn't count as well. Any good source to familiarize oneself with the idiosyncrasies of who counts against the 40?

Redshirts don't have to count against the 40 man roster.

So if Shores isn't expected to pitch at all next year, he might not count.

Trenton Lape had TJ surgery and is recovering, he would not count against the 40 either.

I'm curious as to whether Milazzo and Travinski (should either or both return) would count against the 40. I seem to recall that Beloso and Dugas did not because of a post-Covid rule.

That rule does not exist for next year at this point.
