Starting Pitching:
30 Tyler Jones RHP Jr.
47 Ben Alsup RHP Sr.
12 Kevin Gausman RHP Fr.
40 Mitchell Hopkins LHP Jr.
22 Matty Ott RHP Jr.
37 Ryan Eades RHP Fr.
25 Joey Bourgeois* RHP Jr.
One lefty starter? That's no good.

were mormann and delatte 'encouraged' it would be in their best interest to leave?

In 2009 it worked out quite nicely.

Yes, scholarships are only one year agreements.

Mainieri said earlier in the recruiting process that if we lost recruits, Bradshaw would be moved to a starter instead of relief....
Can anyone confirm....heard this last week as well...multiple times...

I would like to see Alsup used as our main guy to bridge the gap between the starter and Ott (who I think will stay as the closer if a couple of guys step up). Sort of like what Bertuccini did, but I think Alsup could give you more innings over a weekend than Paul did.

Is he no longer the closer? Just curious...

Ott probably is going to need to throw more innings this year giving way to somebody else. Maybe Broussard will step into his role?

I think I would like to see a weekend rotation of
Gausman
Alsup (If he indeed has "got it" now like he showed at the end of last year and summer league)
Eades (If he's healthy)
Time to plan for the future.

Will Ross or Dozar be able to throw out runners?

Edward needs to play well if LSU is going to win

Adam, after reading what happened to Georgia coach dave perno, I don't feel so bad now.

Mainieri said he sent a text message to Georgia Coach David Perno to ask him how he fared. The response? Perno lost every recruit

Damn we are screwed- time to shut down the baseball program, tear down da Box and make it into a parking lot for U-High's field

Broussard can also hit bombs, at least according to the HR competition he did at Tropicana field. I wonder how many opportunities he'll get at the plate this upcoming season.

Story on Gausman from the Denver Post:
LINK
Other Colorado prospects giving SEC schools a look. Being only 8 hours from Omaha, most of them go every year for tournaments, etc.

Reading the article in the Advocate yesterday, I feel a little better. This is a really strong recruiting class even without the players who went pro.10 new pitchers,3 catchers, two state players of the year and the national junior college player of the year. I'm ready for February.
