We are prob playing in the college World Series if Danny Zardon stayed at lsu 345 avg this year with like 15 homers and a 3rd or 2nd baseman.

The Jordan boys had a terrible, and I mean really terrible, postseason. People are letting that cloud the fact that they were more than solid contributors for most of the season.

Thinking they may not be on the roster next year is laughable.

He's been getting hit by pitches since high school when he set the national record. That part of his game isn't going anywhere.

Only our dumbass fans would want to bench an all sec 1st team player as a soph. So frick you for being one of those people

I realize this. I also realize that may have worked for him in little league and high school, but it will only take you so far at the next level.

I never advocated sitting either of the Jordan brothers this year. I only said that there will be stiff competition for their jobs next year. Also, I do believe that CPM sat Bryce in favor of Romero in the game that ended our season. Who's to say that can't happen next season if someone else steps up?

Forshag is a walk on. He isnt taking up any of our scholarship allotment.

certainly not on the cut both brothers bandwagon, don't think I want Beau back in the outfield though. He made some nice plays, but I think some looked more impressive because he has to labor a little more to make those catches than some.

But he is taking up 1 spot of 35. I know they used to have a roster spot allowance for guys to not count against the 35 but they could be like bullpen catchers and what not. If that still exists, I'm not sure he's worth that 1/35.

And there has to be a bullpen catcher that is willing to not play, just help the team.

Found a very interesting beau jordan stat on Twitter just now on the minor league Tigers account. Find it hilarious they bookended it with "but he was great in left field" but 4 RBI in 29 games. Yikes.

quote:

Over the last 29g of the season Beau Jordan had just 4 RBI, & his BA fell .343-->.287. He finished the year with just 1 error in LF in 65g.

Yea but you aren't going to stretch the scholarships over 35 spots. You have to have 1-2 walkons. We are thin at catcher too so it makes sense to keep him. He was a preferred walk on , not like he was a try out guy off the scrap heap.

Will not be thin at catcher. Pap, Romero, Bryce Jordan as 3rd catcher and Coomes and Woley in the signing class have caught.

Except, how many times was Bryce actually used as a catcher this year, even warming up someone in the bullpen?

Honestly, you need some grunt willing to just be able to say he was on the team or an equipment manager to catch down there.

Sounds like Trent Forshag?

Romero- will be a SR next year.

Jordan- Emergency C

Coomes- played 3B this past year

Coomes is a DH. Based on his fld pct at LSUE, he may as well just leave his glove at home.
