The gymnastics practice facility is nice. That’s all I’ve got

track facilities
For all of the success the program has had and all of the world class athletes that have passed through, LSU should have a world class facility.
There is a reason most of the indoor meets are away.

LSU needs upgrades to Swimming, Track, Men’s basketball practice facilities and even baseball. I’d put some of that SEC money into it. LSU will soon make 60 million dollars a year from media rights.

To be honest alleva did an awesome job with facilities. It’s our administrations before him that botched every project
How Woodward does will be interesting, but he hasn’t even released a rendering of any project
I don’t know what Woodward’s highlights are minus giving Pelini the dumbest fricking contract since Miles bluffed us for Arkansas. Hoping he makes a splash with the scandal pr and maybe a badass pmac renovation

The Box is terrible. They went cheap as possible using the excuse of making it just like the old Box while covering every inch of it in ads.
Not having chair backs throughout the stadium is just so cheap. It’s a terrible look

The Box is fixable IMO.
1. Replace the bench backs with chair backs down the lines.
2. Replace the black tarp with a proper batters eye
3, scrap the RF bleachers and build something cool for the students. Party deck type deal with separate access from the rest of the park so they can bring in ice chests and be rowdy.
None of that would be that damn expensive and would significantly improve the aesthetics and atmosphere.

I commented on this on the other thread about a new PMAC. We need a completely new state of the art basketball facility but not as scaled down and small as some are suggesting.
When we built the new Box we went on the cheap. The stands are too slanted and too far away from the foul lines, hence the atmosphere and crowd noise suffers.
Tiger Stadium is still the Mecca as far as I am concerned.

THIS x 10 ! Sooooo simple and cost effective ! It's almost as if the athletic dept. does not want to admit their initial design was, just maybe....ill advised !!!

other than our football locker room and weight room.
The locker room is unique, but I wouldn’t consider it to be the best. Weight room is nice, but it’s hard to really expand when you have to stay within a building footprint.

It’s because Louisiana is an absolute third world shite hole for the most part. But I don’t want to hear anything about Mike’s habitat. That thing is deluxe

Tiger Stadium atmosphere is second to none, but the building itself could use a hell of a lot of upgrades.

I feel like Bertman wanted Henry gone. He couldn't have anyone encroach on his greatest ever at LSU coaching title refuse to pay him and upgrade facilities and let all those national titles walk out the door.

The Box was simply constructed at the wrong time. It was the first of its kind but was constructed in the midst of the Great Recession which caused a lot of cuts. From that point on, other programs began to invest more and more into their stadiums and essentially out done the Box. Outside of the extending the suites, the major investments have been for the players not necessarily for the fans.
Agree. They were the first big program to build brand new at the time when stadiums on average were quite out dated.

We’ve got bleacher seats all the way down the foul line. It’s embarrassing.
Posted on 3/23/21 at 7:18 pm to Adam Banks
The Box at its infancy was the best and then it quickly was lapped. The fact that bleachers were brought over from the old Box should tell you enough. Like most state projects, it was half assed. The suites and chair backs should have gone down to both foul poles. There aren’t enough concessions and the concourse is too small. There should have been permanent seating built in left field and Ole Miss proves that every school should have a berm.
Football ops needs an expansion, but space is limited.
Basketball ops doesn’t have coaches offices nor training areas for the players.
The nutrition center should have been built at the Old Box, but of course politics messed that up. Cuts off half the athletes from quick access.

The problem is we just eeked ourselves over the line of being the best and then we watched as we got lapped as we are now in year 12 of the new box and we haven't done much to keep up.
It is typical LSU though we don't have the foresight needed to state on the cutting edge. We have had a terrible stretch of athletic directors but yet still manage to somehow win titles
