LSU athletics and poorly constructed facilities

Is it just me or have we had more than our fair share of issues with the construction projects.
Tiger stadium they forgot to account for sewage and we had exposed PVC pipe
Mike’s cage we have a lego flag on top
Basketball practice facility was apparently out of date the day it opened. We didn’t account for coaches offices nutrition facilities etc.
Alex box has already fallen behind the rest.
Maybe I’m wrong but with as expensive as these projects have been it seems as if we could have expected better and that we wouldn’t have to upgrade within a short time Do we hire DR Horton to construct all our projects or something

it Louisiana...duh. all the best contractors are in Florida and Texas.

its pretty bad, other than our football locker room and weight room.
It seems LSU manages to botch every PR thing and every upgrade imaginable.
The new box opened and it probably wasn't as nice as arkys park, but then state and Carolina smashed us. Ole miss has a better atmosphere. its a absolute joke that we have bleachers and we don't have a berm.

This one truly is mind boggling. I just don’t get it. For being less than 15 years old and coming off a dominant decade in the 90’s and being a household name across baseball, you’d think that the new stadium would have been state of the art.

we just replicated the old one but added a club level. its a fricking joke how bad they did it

Thought football facilities were one of the best in country

Yeah but we have a bottle of Tabasco that lights up. So.

the new stuff is like our locker room and stuff. our indoor practice facility is pretty dated, but surprisingly not all sec teams even have that

The Box was simply constructed at the wrong time. It was the first of its kind but was constructed in the midst of the Great Recession which caused a lot of cuts. From that point on, other programs began to invest more and more into their stadiums and essentially out done the Box. Outside of the extending the suites, the major investments have been for the players not necessarily for the fans.

Following state rules means LSU has to go cheap
The coast and env building on campus was built very shoddy

I feel like we could have done both. The players get nice new things and we actually have a good fan experience.
State managed to put condos in their stadium

Most - if not all of LSU’s facilities suck. In addition to overall campus - They’re middle of the pack.
Definitely nicer
Bama
UF
Tennessee
South Carolina
Georgia
Texas A&M
Arkansas
Auburn
All the rest are about the same

Alot of what you are describing isn’t construction issues but rather design issues. There is actually a huge difference.

Not a fan of the whole condos in the outfield at State. Its an awkward looking building just sticking up in the outfield. It was so cringy when ESPN did the game there from the condos and Kyle Peterson asked how do you come about getting one of these and the guy was so awkward trying to dodge the fact that he is just rich as frick.

eh I don't know about UGA. they did upgrade steg but I'm pretty sure they just constructed a 50 yard indoor practice field just recently
same with Auburn I think we are ahead of them as well.

The track facilities is a major reason that Pat Henry left. Texas A&M has spent over $80 million on track.
LSU's natatorium is embarrassing. It looks exactly as it did 30 years ago.
I know they don't generate revenue, but other universities put ours to shame.

It was a pretty nice stadium when it opened. Everyone just done some significant work since.

it is a cooler look than our pathetic metal bleachers in the outfield. we spent all this money to reconstruct an old stadium, had a club level to it and put some nice things for the players. We then continue to have a outfield fence that looks minor league with all the ads all over it.
We should have built something that had something unique in it. You either have to stay in the old building and make updates to keep the mystique and cool history or when you build new you have to make it unique.
we decided to do neither

These two are the biggest embarrassment. The natatorium is the worst facility on campus and I would bet one of the worst if not the worst in Division I.

The heart of the problem lies in the fact of how contracts are awarded. It is never the best bid contractor, t is the best connected contractor.
