I was at that game. Great time. Before halftime, their fans were telling us, “...wait til basketball season.”

Great golf, except for the rattlesnakes. Great ball game.

Who was Arizona’s coach back then?
Was Rich Rod there yet?
Too busy to Google it myself.

I took my daughter to that game. I remember driving through town listening to the local radio station talk show before the game. They commented “these fans started showing up on Tuesday and have been tailgating in the mall parking lot since Thursday. Do they not work?”

Arizona's offense had negative yards until late in the first half. Their scoreboard listed total yards for both teams. They turned that part off until later in the game.

Do you recall what course you played?
I was there for work about 25 years ago and stayed at Ventana Canyon. Very nice course but it mid August it was brutal.

Both times we played them we murdered them. They were a great team when we scheduled them years before. I love the 2006 game more only because of Laron Landry’s hit on their quarterback lol.

I want to say Herbie picked Arizona on College Gameday too. The week prior, we played ULM in a rainstorm and our offense took a little while to get going. They were definitely clicking vs Arizona.

Stringmusic,

I do not recall the courses, but i can find out if you like. Traveled with a friend that used to take care of the Audubon GC in New Orleans. He got the first tee time at a different course every day we were there. 6:15/6:30 ish. Only way to play at that time of the year there.

I do remember that we stayed at the el Conquistador Resort. They had 9 holes on site. #9 finished next to the pool. Absolutely beautiful place.

Fun game to watch. TBS had rights to the PAC10 that year. I remember the halftime commentators (The Boz was one I think) , we’re trying their hardest to pump up Arizona so badly.

Boz: “if not for a few plays, Arizona is in this game”

We stayed at Ventana Canyon Lodge and played 18 holes on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday. One 9 was closed for Winterization. We play Friday morning at Ventana Canyon and Friday afternoon at the Gallery.
