My question is why fire Alexander to hire Tate? I thought Alexander was "asked to resign" or basically politically let go because he had gone too far in the progressive direction.
Tate seems to go further in that direction.

His background is almost 100% in meteorology.

I have no idea what the real reason for firing Alexander was, but it’s clearly not because he was too progressive.

Example: He’s the only candidate who mentioned and has a plan to address high achieving Louisiana kids being offered boatloads of money by other SEC schools but LSU not being able to match.
That is a big issue.. my graduating senior just accepted a big offer from another SEC school.. LSU offered 22k and part of that offer was actually a job which made no sense... they are letting TOPS subsidize the rest.. . so he took the 112k scholarship (which I know a lot of it is just the out of state fee).. but it felt more like a "sure" thing since we dont have to worry about TOPS being yanked or changed.

Just let me know if I'm supposed to be mad or happy.

If it’s Tate, I am through with this University. I will never step foot on the campus again.

Then donations will falter and Tate won't last.

I’m not so sure this will be the case should donations falter. They’ll hit up prog organizations to supplement the lost revenue as payment for their good work infiltrating a once proud and conservative university.

I think it is so the BOS would have someone to point their fingers at when this Title IX and sexual assault/harassment stuff started to surface. I have no doubt he had a hand to play in it, but I also believe he is a convenient scapegoat for some of the failing of the BOS in those issues.

I am close with a former Dean that served under Alexander. To my knowledge Alexander was hated by just about everyone, he was a pompous prick that felt he was above Louisianan's in some superiority complex way, completely out of touch with the culture (this dean was from Cali yet he adapted), decimated relations with community colleges that feed students into LSU, Alexander went to multiple Alumni events in different cities and alienated big players in these markets. There was an event in Naples, FL which is arguably the wealthiest area of the US during its peak season, and Alexander didn't show up. I'm sure he ghosted other events, or pissed people off as well. He did nothing to really grow LSU in other markets, and did nothing to foster existing relationships.
I don't think anyone was in his corner, or if they were it was a silent minority.

Just looking at Henderson's resume he seems like the least controversial candidate that could make an easy transition from his current role to LSU president.

Is Tate the one that's an African American?

has made zero mention of your CRT boogeyman.
On a related note, do people just buy their way onto the BoS? They're very underwhelming.

I liked him too though it’s a little weird he’s taking night classes at Southern. Not bad, just a little odd.

He told a story about why. It’s not a serious pursuit, it’s more of a hobby.

You know what else is a little weird? David Duke’s politics.
Posted on 5/6/21 at 4:06 pm to TigerOnTheMountain
Tate gets hired to merge Southern into LSU starting with the law school then department by department shutting down part of the LSU campus and shifting key sections of the integrated school into Southern
it is after all, the woke thing to do ensuring better facilities and lower overall costs for the black students.

Gotta love the spoils system. BOS appointees are rewarded for their (or someone close to them’s) support of the governor. Qualifications or ties to the university are not important.
