I'm sure this is preferable to playing Tulane in the Dome.
Yeah, they still believe they led the future NC's 9-7 @ halftime or something although the final was like 34-9! I was @ that game LSU sleptwalked through most of it! :geauxtigers

Towson makes Tulane look like USC.

I grew up 30 minutes from Towson St (they dropped the State a decade ago). I had no idea they even played football.

Decent lacrosse team, though. Even made the tourney a few years back. This is a truly embarrassing addition to the schedule.

Also frick playing Southern or Tulane. Neither school matters and I don't feel like giving them the time of day anyways.

Southern, SLU or anyone would have been preferable, at least pick a regional FCS team.

I would hope that the in-state FCS schools either declined an invite from LSU or already have FBS opponents scheduled.

Right...but just barely: LINK

Tulane took the lead with 1:40 left in the 2nd quarter. LSU kicked a FG with 3 seconds left in the half.

Terrible Terrible move by Athl Dept!!

Why play an FCS school?? AND IF you insist on doing it, keep the money in state and play McNeese or Northwestern again or any of the others. WHO the Frick wants to go watch LSU play Towson?!?!

This, no doubt, is yet another great Ausberry scheduling gem. Frick, I'd rather see Southern or Grambling in Tiger Stadium. At least they would provide halfway decent halftime entertainment.

I guess Alleva is still out to lunch daydreaming about being in Knoxville to allow this kind of weak deal to go down.

i don't think any of yall are privy to the info LSU has regarding what dates are available, who's available, and how much of a guarantee we were willing to pay... that being said, i know there were better options than Towson State. there just had to be.

I'd rather go to the blue turf and kill their legend like Randy Orton, just because we can and i know we can. I'd rather go to cajun field and MAKE THEM call it ULL. I'd rather go to the Dome for one final arse whooping, so that Tulane can get started on the rest of their history as a rent-a-win. I'd rather go to the Independence Bowl and do the same in case Tech has any big ideas...

I would have much rathered an in-state school. At least there would be some good trash-talking or kidding around with family, neighbors, friends, and co-workers that are alums or fans of the in-state school.

I think we should save a home game every year for the best team of the previous year out of:

Nicholls, Southeastern, Southern, Grambling, McNeese, Northwestern, ULM.

This would give the little guys some incentive for a chance to play with the big boys.

Boise State is available on 9-29-2012, according to this site

Alas, LSU isn't available any more

Pathetic! I can see maybe that we cant get a FBS oponent, but to get one of the worst FCS opponents is just plain embarrassing. I feel for the season ticket holders who spend their hard earned money. Why not keep the money in state with SLU, Southern or Northwestern St. Awful, just awful.

I hate this choice for a rent-a-win. Agree with everyone else...why not an in-state school...at least keep the money here.

Anyone have a clue how much this W is going to cost us?

At least traffic shouldn't be bad after the game. I'm guessing the exits at half time will be packed! Wonder if BRPD will even be needed to "direct" traffic after the game or if they'll leave after half too?

Horrible choice.
