Troy Edwards to help out the WRs next?

If Les just allowed his OCs to coach, his legacy could have been legendary.
Crowton's first year, it was.
Jarrett Lee's 7 Ints returned for TDs(and later 1/9/12) broke Miles as a coach.
Welcome aboard, Tim.

A thought:
Maybe they want Sloan to focus on playcalling duties more this year to improve in some areas.
Obviously he's still going to coach QBs, but Rattay may have been brought in to help share the load

Joe Ferguson
Joe coached a bit at Tech, I believe, but he played at Arkansas after a fabulous career at Woodlawn in Shreveport (same school as Terry Bradshaw).
Incredible career at Woodlawn, set every Louisiana passing record, topped off with a state championship against Sulphur and LSU's own Jimmy Ledoux. Sold out State Fair Stadium for the championship game.
LSU really wanted Joe, and even had Y.A. Title to host him on campus. LSU simply didn't throw the ball then, so they had to settle for a guy named Jones. Bert, I think his name was.

I thought I read that he coached for the Dallas cowboys at one time. Maybe I just saw cowboys and thought Dallas when it was Oklahoma state cowboys

Yeah. Bradshaw was a year behind me at Woodlawn and Ferguson was after him.
Went to a game at Ruston when both were N La powers. The QB’s were Joe and Bert Jones. Final score was 14-7 Woodlawn I think. Surprisingly low score with two future NFL QB’s on the field

He is just replacing Todd fitch. Fitch was basically the qb coach last yr. Rattay will be the qb coach this yr.
Fitch took the oc job at Charlotte. I actually like rattay more as strictly a qb coach.

Wasn’t really ever a franchise QB but had a few big moments in the league.
Career achievements
Rattay is one of only three 7th-round or undrafted quarterback since 1995 (out of a pool of 30 such players) to pass for more than 400 yards in a game. Matt Cassel accomplished this twice in 2008, and Tony Romo in 2010.
Rattay broke the San Francisco 49ers team record for the most completions in a 31–28 win against the Arizona Cardinals on October 10, 2004, when he completed 38 passes, breaking Joe Montana's record of 37.
Rattay is the only quarterback in NFL history to throw three consecutive passes all going for touchdowns, as he did for the Arizona Cardinals in 2007.
Rattay was responsible for the biggest comeback in Buccaneers history on December 17, 2006, when he led the team back from a 21-point 3rd quarter deficit against the eventual NFC Champion Chicago Bears, throwing for three touchdowns in the fourth quarter and sending the game into overtime before the Buccaneers lost, 34–31.

I was at that same game in Ruston when Ferguson and Jones matched up. Louisiana had another good quarterback that year, Norris Weese from Chalmette. He played for Ole Miss and then the Denver Broncos.

My mom is Woodlawn class of ‘68, a couple of years younger than Bradshaw but same age as Ferguson, I believe.

That sounds right. I was in 65 class with Trey Prather, then Bradshaw 66 I think then Ferguson followed him until 68 or 69

Frank Broyles said whoever got Ferguson would win the national championship.
He was wrong.

Right. Joe graduated from Woodlawn in 1969, I believe. He followed another pretty good quarterback when he went to Arkansas, Bill Montgomery.
Didn't Johnny Booty also play quarterback at Woodlawn?

Arkansas tailed off some when Joe was at Arkansas. One odd thing in maybe his junior year at Arkansas was that he was having back pain that affected his throwing and they couldn't find out what was causing the pain. They finally discovered that one of his legs was like an eighth of an inch shorter than the other. Put an insert in his shoe and the pain went away.
But you're right; Arkansas didn't come close to winning a national championship.
