this was a one game issue, I would agree with you. It’s becoming a disturbing pattern coming up on the toughest part of our schedule...doesn’t inspire confidence
It’s funny to see this coming from you about a 17-4 team, yet in football you shite all over anyone who says 10-3 isn’t good enough.

I hate the way we defend ball screens with soft hedging. It allows the ball handler to make one easy pass and it's 4 on 3 every time.
Wish Wade would have the big man hedge hard and have the guard cut underneath, which allows the big man more time to recover and forces a tougher first pass.

Keep your football shite out of this thread, thanks.

What point are you trying to make. Pirate is absolutely correct, this is garbage product right now and if you aren’t concerned then you don’t know anything about basketball. Take the homer goggles off this is a pattern that is not going away.

Your right but it was just a lack of self control they are good and everyone can turn it on and score at any time on this team. It kinda leads our dudes all fighting to be the one to trigger the run.. they just have not figured out how to let game come to them and then take advantage yet

Also: Im so god damn tired of all the pessimistic shite on the rant. As an LSU fan I hate seeing my brotheren embaress themselves with overreactions for all else to see.
Realistically, it's just sad for them. We are not a national championship team this season...NO shite. However, you have to be blind, stupid, or a legit mentally handicapped to not realize that our program is going in the right direction and it is going there QUICKLY.
It has to suck to not be able to enjoy anything. LSU is 7-1 in the SEC, may lose to a top 25 NET team ON THE ROAD to make them 7-2...and people think our season is over. It's sad. LSU will beat some team soon, and most of these posters will vanish again

I feel like State could destroy a press if we tried it.
Waters had 4 steals in 4 minutes without the added pressure of a press, so I would imagine that it could cause them some issues.

We are not a bad team, we are not a shitty team, we are not a stupid team...we are a young team and road games especially are hard. Just because we lose a game, even if we lose by 30, does not make us a shite basketball team

Man... you and I have known each other a long time... but I disagree with all of the 100% We have no basketball IQ. We aren’t a team. We are a bunch of guys that are kind of good at basketball
I think the best description is inconsistent. There’s potential. We’ve all seen it. But turnovers, fouls, bad decision making and just some piss poor shooting keep this team from getting better. We have definitely plateaued since South Carolina. There hasn’t been much improvement. And the biggest thing is we still have no one that we can legitimately go to for a basket down low.
And that’s just offensively. Defense has way too many issues.

You’re not concerned at all with the product that’s been put out the last several games?

Presses tend to work better against teams with only one primary ballhandler. State has 2 or 3. They would break it easily

But they make the same dumb mistakes over and over, game after game.
LSU is not a good defensive team. Their approach is all or nothing. That’s not changing, so there is no reason to continue to get mad at this point.
So that means LSU simply just has to out score teams. But if you force LSU to execute in the half court you see the results...a million turnovers. That’s because they don’t actually have an “offense”. The offense is just random ball screens and expecting the ball handler to simply make a play.
Individually, LSU’s guys are better than most. But not against this team.
LSU needs a free flowing game to be successful. It may be time to start the press just to make it a faster game. Expecting this team to execute in the half court is asking a lot

Are you asking me if I’m concerned with a young team having issues with continuity and turnovers?
No, wade is a really good coach. To have dipshits come in here and act like we are a bubble team is ridiculous.

quote:Butt, I agree with everything you said, but I just dont agree with this comment. Im DEFINITELY not saying we are going to win it all, but in college basketball, I get a lot more satisfaction with going to the Final 4 vs losing in the second round.
We are not a national championship team this season..
It’s like going to the CWS in baseball. I just want my team to get to the “premiere.”
And if we surpass the “premiere,” then I am even more grateful.
