Easy to say now, but with his recent troubles, I’d have saved Shores for a clean inning.
Oh well, it worked. But with that lefty looming on deck, I’d have kept Williams in.
Will be interesting to see if Jay goes to Cowen next to get the final 9 outs. He didn’t have it yesterday in Game 1, so he got the quick hook to have him ready to go today. But last time he pitched Game 1 on Friday (or Thursday) and came back in Game 3, he wasn’t as sharp as he typically is. At least not for as long as we’ve come to expect. And he had an extra day. So does Jay try to steal another inning from Shores or go to Cowen?
