re: LSU 3 @ Ole Miss 6 Final

The defense is it what it is. We have to hope this team somehow gets scorching hot with the bats. Pitching staff is average with no ace. If they don’t get hot we miss the tourney, if they do get hot we lose in a regional final. Tough season.

This team is not capable of sweeping anybody...81 outs in a weekend, and this team can only guarnatee competency for 50% of them

It makes me appreciate how good last years team was on playing defense.
This years team... not so much.

Still plenty of time to improve and being play our best ball in May and June. Its just frustrating to watch them struggle so much with fundamentals we all worked on in middle school.

A Louisiana State University player can't step on 2B. Unbelievable.

It obviously sucks to lose, but so many of the people posting here are mentally soft and prisoners of the moment.
Except it isn't a moment. It's the entire season.
LSU baseball has overwhelmingly underperformed. If you think otherwise, I'm not sure what to tell you.

Braun looks pretty good so far, but the rest have been rough, especially at 2nd. Pearson is just average on his best day.
I know I will be downvoted to Hell and back but hear me out.
Yesterday, Carraway is listed as out. Serna and Dardar are listed as questionable. Today, Serna and Dardar are upgraded and put in the starting lineup. At some point during the game, Pearson is removed. Dardar moved to 3B and a player who has rarely played 2B put in the game.
Why leave Yorke on the bench? It's obvious, to me anyway, that your IF is compromised some by looking at the injury report yesterday. Carraway being out hurts looking back on it.
Yorke has 5 errors on the year, as does Brown, Pearson and Serna. Dardar has 4. While more and more SEC pitchers have been pitching to Yorke and taking away his walks, leaving him on the bench when your IF availability numbers are down does not make sense to me. I know I'm prob the only who feels this way, but benching Yorke has not improved one single thing except make the obesity haters feel better about themselves.

This was your best and most accurate post of the night.
I do still have the hope that it gets better.... Hope is a good thing.

as bad as people complain the infield is, anytime one of the backups come in, they seem to do even worse (except at 1B).
Really?
Because Pearson was a sub just a couple weeks ago. He is now the regular starter.
Yorke was a starter and now isn’t.
A few people have started at 2nd…
So I think your take is just stupid and pulled straight out of your arse.

Duh, we needed a second baseman or a third baseman in that spot. Neither Yorke or Braun play either position so what good would either do?

The catchers have trouble catching the ball.

Please tell me you are trolling. You think putting Yorke at 2nd or 3rd should have been the move.
Why am I falling for this trolling?

It's tough to win an SEC Baseball road series, folks.

Not trolling. Prob didn't make it clear. The numbers were down at the start of the game. Start Yorke at first with Carraway out and Dardar just making it off the injured list. That keeps the number of IFs left to put in the game higher than they would have been. It's just a thought.
For clarity, only Milam and Curiel's fielding % is higher than Yorke's.

You can't be this dense . Braun played first. Either him or Yorke would have sat so that had zero to do with anything. Braun throws left handed.

Yep, but
-Our starting pitcher used 80 pitches to get 10 outs
-ANY catcher we put behind the dish cant consistently do their job
-Milam swung at 3 balls above his shoulders
-Pearson saw 9 strikes and tried to hit all of them 600ft
-Dardar watched three different lefty pitchers absolutely make him look like a child
-Dardar also cant play second base
-defensive replacements then got exposed in very fundamental plays
-we learned that Stanfield can't throw a ball 190ft accurately (and some TDers defended it)
And all those dudes came up with other dudes on base

I'm not dumbass. I will just teach myself then.
There's quite a few IFs on the LSUSport.net Baseball roster that are listed at L/R. Since I'm teaching myself here, I prob should have asked myself the question, if Yorke was put back at 1B, would that have freed up Braun or anyone else who could play 1B to play somewhere else in the IF since Righties are needed at all the other positions. It would appear the team is a lot more limited in its IF options.
Braun is the only one of the two listed at L/L. As discussed regarding him the other night, it's hard to know exactly which position these IFs can play when they are listed as RH throwing. Only the coaches truly know which positions they have played in HS, travel ball, Fall Ball, Ball Ball etc

And braun had three hits before he got tagged out at first. All jj had to do was swap Braun for yorke.
