I remember when we thought they all they had left were ragarms after their starter left yesterday.

Turns out we were the ones with ragarms left for the series.

I think Max Weiner might be a much better pitching coach than Nate Yeskie.

We get to 2 strike and can't finish the deal. Is it execution or pitch calling? Both maybe?

LSU will score 3 runs this inning but only if we get boobs imo.

Going to need pornhub to overcome this pitching.

If offense can score a couple, at least we can get 90 pitches out of Shores.

Get ready for 3 up 3 down on a 10 pitch inning as a response

Shores needs to stop throwing his hands up after someone gets a hit off of him.

Weak arse demeanor.

Fix that first.

Second, make your miss pitches closer.

Nobody is going to bite on pitches that far off the plate

Agreed, that was the point of my post. Seemed like Milam pouted over the botched play instead of hustling. Don’t think it was necessarily a horrible play by Reaves.

If you watch the replay from the full field angle, Curiel was 100% going to get to that ball before Milam, even in Milam sprinted full speed after it once it went off of Reaves.

Does the catcher telling the pitcher to settle down ever do anything?

It's only slightly more effective than telling your wife to settle down.

I’m getting sick of all these ground balls. We’re getting BABIP’d to death.

That’s been Shores his entire career. He’s only given up a handful of XBHs and has never given up a home run. He’s the most unlucky pitcher ever giving up ground ball hits through the infield

Or maybe Texas is throwing strikes and LSU can’t hit this guy. Let’s turn it here

That was an issue for Shores as a freshman too.

But I doubt the current pitch caller is doing him any favors.

Cooper was consistently good his whole tenure at LSU. If you thought his Omaha work was an aberration, you weren’t paying attention.

In 2023 he struggled against aTm, Tennessee, ULL, Nicholls, and Mississippi State (twice), before turning it on in the postseason.

But my point stands. Johnson has always had the MO that a good offense will overcome a bad defense. Hence scoring 8 and 7 runs in games 1 and two of this series and splitting those games.

It's pitch calling. Yeski calls outside sliders every time we get 2 strikes.

Nothing inside, nothing high. Same pitch call every time

No it's get 2 strikes and throw 2 sliders in the opposite batters box. That's the pitch called

Are you kidding? He MUST be able to execute a curve and it needs to be started over and finish off. He is starting at the opposite batters box.
He has zero movement on his FB and can’t execute rhe pitches otherwise, he would not be the same week in and week out.

You MUST be able to locate that FB in all quadrants at any time and throw a fricking change.
Look at the change and what it does with Cowan.
