Really funny we have fans pissed we didn’t intentionally walk Honeycutt with 1 out in the 5th inning after he’d struck out his first two ABs and UNC having had one hard hit ball the entire game to that point. No coach is going to put him on in that situation.
Like you said they weren’t hitting it great so there is zero baseball reason to throw at the best hitter with the base open there and 1 out.

He tries, but not needing to give up anymore runs before the top of the ninth is not a position I'd want Dutton on the mound.
