Obviously just a guess, but JJ may have seen enough of bad throws in the infield and didn't want them to make more of them throwing it around and hurting their confidence more.

Guessing it’s something Hilliard wanted. Get the ball back quicker when you’re rolling. We’ll have to wait until a new pitcher or tomorrow to see if it’s a new thing or just a preference by Hilliard.

Nice AB there. Working counts is huge for the rest of this game...make them go deep into their bullpen and keep us out of the bullpen hopefully. Set us up nicely for tomorrow.
