After what we just experienced, I don’t think I’m taking comfort in comparing the two teams. I pray that the coaches are working on hitting this week as if their lives depend on it.

I feel like this is the weekend LSU puts together 2 strong hitting performances. It feels great knowing we have Andy and Ant taking the bump

LSU usually crushes these kind of teams in supers. It’s the unknown talented mid majors that get them.

LSU will take nothing for granted again. LR just about beat our asses. They will need to keep the hit parade going. The Bear seems out of his slump. WV has a good baseball team and it will not be easy. LSU will have to be sharp. Need to go 2-0 with our aces and move on.

Put the ball in play and let them throw up on themselves

Seriously. I just went and counted. They had 9 errors in their 3 games of the Clemson Regional. Give em credit that they went undefeated (Beat Kentucky 4-3, Clemson 9-6, & Kentucky again 13-12), but wow that's pushing the limits. The percentage of teams that win a game with 5 errors has to be below 5% yet that's what they did in their last game vs Kentucky.

They didn't really play a lot of game vs. NCAA Tournament teams this year. Only 15 during the regular season and conf. tournament. In those 15 they were 8-7. Of the 8 wins, 4 were against Cincinatti.

Only thing I'm going to throw out there is that they play better away from home. I think they're something like 24-5 on the road.

As long as it’s not weak pop ups. I hope they level out some swings and take what is pitched. I need to see more opposite field hits from a few batters in our lineup.

All these stats for WV are slanted. They play in an extremely weak conference with subpar competition.

That said, Little Rock does as well.

That's a little bit skewed because they play the first few weeks of the season on the road due to the fact February baseball in WV is not exactly ideal conditions. Thier first 12 games away from home were against pretty weak competition. In fact, they only played 4 true road games against NCAAT teams.

Compare that to LSU who played road series @ Texas, Oklahoma, Auburn

They are a good team. Obviously, they were able to get through a road regional 3-0. LSU's performances vs. UALR in the last two games probably wouldn't be enough to take 2/3 from WVU. But FWIW, LSU has faced FAR tougher competition this season

Little Rock just showed that you can throw all those statistics out the window.

WVU is terrible defensively. They made 5 errors in their last game with KY but still won. We will need to capitalize on their mistakes.

And pray that we work on stealing bases, bunting and manufacturing runs just in case bats go cold.
