What example did Jay set when it comes to the college baseball experience?

You’re gonna get roasted on here because people love to bitch.

It’s all about perspective because there’s a very small few with stadiums better than LSU. Spoke to a few fans from non-SEC schools (over the past few years) and they were in awe.

I’m an idiot? I’ve going to go out in a limb and say I’ve been to more baseball stadiums than you. I’ve been to every sec stadium except for Oklahoma, Missouri and the new Kentucky. We aren’t even in the top 3 of stadiums and that’s almost a universally accepted fact.

Eh, LSU frequently makes the top 3 of this list. A recent NCAA "poll" had LSU as #4 in the country and #3 in the conference.

"Looks" are subjective.

it is nowhere close to Dudy Noble Field.

Nothing is and likely never will be close to State. LSU needs be be better than Arky, Ole Miss, and USC.

LSU is better than Ole Miss by far.

You've never been to Swayze if you think that cramped arse concourse they have is better than the worst thing at the new box.

South Carolina isn't great either, but people think it is because they see the chairback seats in the outfield on TV.

Baum is better than the Box.

I haven’t been to USC but I can say that Ole Miss delivers a better day in day out atmosphere, which is helped by the outfield.

That has nothing to do with Swayze itself though.

The stadium is tiny and cramped.

This conversation reminded me of this clip.

The NCAA media team pulled some A&M and Tenner players to list their top 4 favorite SEC stadiums before the CWS.

LSU was mostly #1 or #2

Oh the players aren't openly telling random fans how much they hate the new bullpen? I'm shocked.

I can see how the players like the new bullpen. It's an obvious upgrade compared to warming up on the field. Is it the premium upgrade we'd all like to see? Of course not. The new, on-field seating is nice. I'm actually surprised they put so few seats in there. Those folks have an amazing amount of room. For those with tickets that are now behind that seating, it sucks. We used to be able to watch the bullpen and be closer to the action.

please tell me it's just the camera angle/lens that makes the painted home plate on the left look rather thin and enlongated.

I don't want to be a follower, I want to set the example

Then maybe find a contractor who can cut turf in a straight line and install home plates that aren’t poorly spraypainted on? It would be so funny if you were the GC on this shitty project and that’s why you’re so defensive

In any case, the one on the right is definitely misshapen

Have you ever been to the Superdome in New Orleans?

I’m sure since the pens aren’t visible to the public they made them practical for year 1 to see how it goes. Will be interesting to see what happens when fans stomp the bleachers during a big game. I could see that becoming an issue. Etc

Wouldn’t be surprised if they took notes and observations from this season and then jazzed up the area with a phase 2 in summer ‘25 or ‘26.

In fairness the existing stadium probably makes the potential for renovations somewhat limited without a major backer to pay for it.

That said I don’t understand fawning over what we’ve seen so fair, either.
