Is it possible a deal is already done.

Anything is possible. OR….is it possible that a general agreement has been made, but they are either waiting for his team to lose, or waiting for the start of the CWS to maximize air time?
Who the F knows anything?? I personally love the fact that Woodward has managed to keep multiple coaching searches quiet! Even the swim coach search..HA

It does seem strange that McDonnell should be a top-tier candidate but there's been no hint of it through media that has referenced/connected all these other names in some capacity.
Hopefully this is just a matter of Woodward playing chess, and McDonnell has been in play all along.

McDonnell would truly be a HR hire. Pre covid through 2019 went to Omaha 5 times and won the conference 9 of 13 years. And Louisville is a borderline northern school. Given the climate and recruiting that’s really tough to do. Kentucky and Missouri are as far north . When is the last time either been to Omaha. Missouri - 1964, Kentucky - never.
