If Lou is such an inspiration, how did he escape Military Service. He graduated HS and College at a time there was a Military Draft. He was in the Reserve. Did he have political influence.

I've always been a fan of Lou Holtz. Loved him on ESPN, especially on Thursday nights when he would give the pep talks for different teams. He's hilarious. I read his books and have seen a number of his speeches. Interesting guy.

ETA: Holtz was a totalitarian a-hole of a person. Numerous stories exist of him being an absolute cocksucker behind the scenes, while putting out a public persona that was completely different.
