Don’t let these people ruin your time. Just moved back from Georgia a couple of years ago. All we could get is east lowers due to not having any kind of rank with TAF. It’s HOT AF, but wouldn’t trade the memories. Every game we go too is so much better than watching on tv.

Yes, it’s high. Yes, it can be hot.

What’s your suggestion?

LSU completed its first upper deck in 1978. Like the upper decks of today, the seats were way too far from the field and removed from the game atmosphere, but they were cheap, no TAF donation, and it was possible to arrive an hour before kickoff, find a parking spot on campus (for free), and be on the interstate 30 minutes after the game ended. If you lived in SE Louisiana, a LSU football game was a 1/2 day excursion at most. It was routine to leave St. Tammany parish around 4pm, find a random parking spot on campus, and be in bed by 11pm. In addition, there was little TV, so most kickoffs were at 7pm. The difference between an ESPN 6pm kickoff and a 7pm kickoff is a full 1/3 of a game baking in the Sun.

It was thought out when men were men. I’m sure the guys who just got back from a world war weren’t thinking that a bunch of soyboys not being able to handle 3 hours of summer heat without vomiting their IPA all over the bleachers

reality is they didn’t build the right way. Suites and club should be at the top of the stadium, not the middle. Upper deck seats are too high up with the design of TS

So you think people would pay top dollar for suites atop the upper decks?

This should be the norm at every stadium as the suites are reliant on the program/team as a whole, sold a season if not years in advance, and are going to be priced the same no matter how high they are off the field, as long as they are on the sidelines. Same with club level to a lesser extent.

At least by putting actual seats in better locations, you can charge a premium and they are more likely to be sold and utilized (generating higher concession income) on a game to game basis.

You are making too much sense baw. When has anything done in Louisiana make logical sense?

I remember when standard kickoff was 7:30pm. I think they went to 7 pm so the east coast newspapers could print results in the Sunday papers??

I can confirm. There were days where we could actually hear the sun.
I don't believe you because the Sun was most definitely drowned out by the Piped-In Music.

At least someone at LSU had the vision to not slap a giant concrete bleacher slab on top of the south expansion.
No, they slapped a few mis-matched FEMA Trailer looking structures on top of the SEZ expansion instead.

I wish we had moved out of Baton Rouge sooner. (2020) We're 12 hours away and I really don't miss watching my Tigers play in Death Valley, or as I call it now, PIMger Stadium.

TeachemMeachem17, if you want to see LSU play that bad, then what's stopping you from moving to Baton Rouge? (You're not in prison, are you?)

Pretty sure by the mid-40’s rolled around, the vast majority of games in TS were played at night. This does not negate your assertion that the modern fan base is dominated by pussies.

Never been in upper east, but as far as all the other comments, I drive over 3 hours there and back at least 3 times for SEC games a year, because I love the whole atmosphere. I also go to 1 or 2 road SEC games. Love being in opposing stadiums, although not particularly in seasons like 2020 or 2021. I guess I have so many great memories of being in that stadium for epic games over 30 years. Being at that Bama game last year was so sweet, not only because of the way we won, but because I remember the feeling of the many losses, including the games in 2012 and 2014, in which we outplayed them only to lose at the very end. Ole Miss was a great atmosphere last year too. Even MSU was pretty damn good. It’s easy to focus on the negatives and I certainly don’t understand some of the things like the poor lighting, bad sound system, and food that isn’t winning any competitions, but I pretty much focus on the football. The passion makes it worth it and life without passion is just existing.

Its a shame LSU can’t simply refuse to play home games before 7pm.

I get the tv thing, but we are a school that plays home night games. Period. It IS our tradition.

I’m done for life attending home games in September that kick off before 7pm.

It’s just so much better watching from home than fighting traffic for hours before and after the game and broiling during the game.

I’ve said for years LSU needs to lose at least 25,000 off capacity and make the ticket harder to acquire.

Less supply = more demand = full stadium.
