Your in for a rude awakening when you pass away from this earth if you don't change your thought process on Christ.
Just remember the words "depart from me for I never knew you, ye worker of iniquity

The OP is utterly ignorant of Christianity and where practicing Christians are. Liberal does not mean anti-CHristian. And Conservative does not mean Christian.
Dabo Sweeney thanks God whether he is playing/coaching in South Carolina or in Silicon Valley, CA. It is neither ironic nor particularly significant that Dabo thanked God last night when he did. He does that all the time.

Yet it's ok for you to belittle or condemn those who don't. Yea, got it.

Pardon me for butting into your conversation for a moment, but I believe you might be misplacing your claim of ignorance on the wrong individual. The OP didn't mention anything about liberals or conservatives. Though it can certainly be generally assumed that Liberals and Christians are not typically one in the same, and that most conservatives are Christians, there are exceptions to both sides.
But the OP stated that it is an anti-God area. Most people there ARE liberal, yes, and most liberals are anti-God. How do I know this? Because their principles are not in line with Biblical doctrine. For the life of me, I don't know how a liberal Christian can reconcile their politics with their faith. The Bible says that it is an abomination for a man to lay with a man, and a woman with a woman. But liberals believe in gay marriage. God said "Thou shalt not kill", yet they support the killing of millions of babies.
The OP is not ignorant of Christianity. It is perhaps you who are ignorant of it.
And the fact that Dabo thanked God where he did was not suggested to have been unique to Dabo, himself. It's just unique to that place for something like that to be said on such a big stage. I don't see how that point was hard to understand, much less should it have been perceived as ignorance.

The idea isn’t that God helped them win, as much as it’s thanking God for the traits given to them that result in skill, determination and knowledge to excel at something. Thanking him for giving you the tools.
But you can twist all your like for comedic purposes.

"I was just pointing out that he was praising God in Cali where they don’t want people mentioning His name whatsoever."
I'm an atheist, but I totally support Dabo thanking god after the game. Free speech is incredibly important. But to say "they dont want people mentioning his name whatsoever" is innacurate. Who is the "they" you're referring to? Other American citizens with different beliefs from yours? It's more like they are just not required to by their community. Some people just dont share the same beliefs as you. I live in georgia, and in the south its almost a requirement to be Christian. Ill respect your beliefs, as long as they dont infringe on the rights of others. But as far as dabo, dude had every right to thank his god and more power to him.

Not every atheist thinks the way you do. This thread alone is evidence of that. Berkeley was famous for it's free speech but now days Christians and even Conservatives are run off of campus and being disallowed to speak. The students rally against any voice that doesn't echo their own liberal views.

Anti-God country?
You’re seriously stupid.
FWIW, if he wants to thank a man made diety that’s his choice. He might as well have thanked the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

Honestly, you're not wrong. The far left has gotten pretty ridiculous in its quest to censor any opinion that it doesn't agree with. But so has the far right. Im kinda new to politics as a millennial, but it frustrates me how, politically and religiously, there is no middle ground. If you're a Democrat, you're demonized as a liberal fascist who requires safe spaces and hates religion. And if you're a Conservative, you're derided as a religious, uneducated fanatic. But most people reside in the middle. I mean freedom of choice is one of our countries greatest principles. I'd like to say that not all religious folk think as you do as well, and I appreciate the open mindedness you have to even have a dialogue with an atheist. Politics are insanely decisive nowadays, and it's easy to forget were all just trying to do what's right, by our beliefs.

You know Christ is so underrated in terms of unity among many teams and players at all levels. It is the elephant in the room most of the time.

Guess God did not want Bama to win?!?!
I appreciate the statements giving God the praise. Having said that, my opinion is anyone that thinks God cares about the winner of a football game for one team v. the other is just wrong. If they mean to say they are blessed to be playing a game and that everyone remained healthy after the game, I get it. One thing I have never heard is someone in a postgame interview on one of these big games suggesting glory to God after they lost. Tua did not last night and Dabo did not when they lost to Bama last year (at least not that I heard).
I do love the fact that the 3 QBs all openly profess their faith. Tebow took a lot of heat for that years ago and now it is hardly mentioned because it’s no longer out of the norm. Pretty awesome.

I am well aware of the difference, Spotswoode. You missed the point, completely. You see, I disagree with pretty much everything that comes out of a liberal or atheist's mouth, and I will debate them. But I won't shout them down and force them to leave. That's because I can disagree with someone without hating them.
And that is the difference between a Christian/conservative, and the type of liberals/atheists you find in places like silicon valley.
I'm not the one saying you have to agree with what you hear. I'm saying that if you want to be able to go out in the streets and make loud noises in protest of whatever is the latest thing bothering you, and you want to be protected by free speech, then you should allow Christians and conservatives to speak.
And that brings us to the OP's point (which was not idiotic). Dabo had a unique opportunity, and took it, to speak about God in a place that is known for shouting down Christians and conservatives.
