What about Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama and Florida? All of those are one offs too?

no, move sage back to safety and then see if gilbert or allen can get better at the other

I actually agree with Sage moving back to safety. I think Dashawn Spears is already a player and could play opposite safety position from Sage.

The Weeks brothers looked the best against the run to me. They played fast and filled gaps. They played down hill.

Name all of the starting LB's of the New Orleans Saints when they won the Super Bowl back in 2010

3-3-5 formation downloaded

Would love to see this as it plays to the strengths of our best personnel. Could offset/mitigate our thin D-Line. Might also benefit us because it's a little gimmicky -- not many teams in the SEC even have a 3-3-5 look, and I don't think any run a base 3-3-5. So it's a new wrinkle for teams to prep for.

Honestly, why the hell not?

Pretty much what we run anyway but we half arse it. Swinson is a drop end/OLB but he only drops a couple times per game so it’s really pointless. If you had a real LB right there then you could disguise things and keep offenses guessing.

It’s been pretty well documented by the local radio guys that Perks camp wants him at LB for the nfl reasons.

I posted this earlier on a different thread but it relates directly to this one:

Once a blocker ties up Perk, he's done. He just doesn't seem to be able to "break free" from a blocker. Seems like a strength issue to me.

I like the Safety / Star idea for him...

No. He had similar games to those statistically in 2023, yet a lot of posters on this board complained in 2023 that he wasn't being utilized correctly.

Again, those games were not "one offs" as he had similar outputs in several games in 2023.

No deflection necessary.

So Arkansas was a one off even though he’s had several other games where he’s been dominant. Yea that makes sense lol

Uhhhh if he was playing on our defense I would be a lot more confident about our DL I wouldn’t sit him.

He's never had another game where he's been as dominant as the Arkansas game, with regard to all the plays he made (combination of multiple sacks plus fumbles forced and tackles for loss).

Hence the reason I stated that was probably a career outing for him and his expected output should be more similar to the games you mentioned.

Nobody expects him to have 35-40 sacks a year dummy.

Okay.

My statement was directed to those who were saying he was used incorrectly last year, if that's not you, there's no reason to get offended.
