This board is great. We actually have people that would want to fire CPM after winning a 2nd championship.

Yeah, that has to be an Aprils Fools joke.

I wasn't happy with the way the team performed, competed against TX or Georgia. The mid week games are a touch troubling, but I have learned to tune that noise out.

I, like others, had amazingly high expectations this year. That always produces angst when the team struggles a bit.

This season hinges on:

Watson, Cabrera, Dups and Smith getting hot, not all at one time, but a couple need to be on.

Hess, we really need better production out of him more consistently.

Need to get a couple arms well. But Henry, Fontenot, Walker, Vit and Beck have been really good.

I think we need another hitter in the line up, maybe Willis will step up and be that guy..or Garza.

But Paul does not need to be fired. I don't think I have even said that drunk....I may have , but don't recall.

I like the way the schedule sets up for us the rest of the way. We get aTm, Florida, Auburn and Ole Miss at home; Mizzou, Arky and Bama on the road. It's always been said that 20-10 in the SEC will get you a regional if not a national seed. We're 6-3 now and 14-7 in the next 7 series certainly seems doable.

Here’s what it boils down too. We have played 3 SEC series, 2 on the road against top 5 teams and are 6-3 in sec play. We are right where we want to be right now. If the hitting continues to get better watch out.

Quality evaluation there from the head coach

If you knew the story you would know that it was on Reid, not the coach. I will leave it up to you to research and report back.

Hey, Rant, I don't like Paul. Get over it. It doesn't mean I won't be happy if we win. I just don't like the f'n guy or the way he coaches. I don't like how he evaluates assistant coaches or thinks that matchups in pitching matter but doesn't recruit left handed pitchers. He's bonkers. But this is LSU and the players can win baseball with a dumb arse coach.

ps I'm not drunk. Only that idiot Deaux would drink during the day and post dumb crap.

Thinking the Ranters are the ones that need to get over something on this topic is almost as stupid as your take on how you would feel about Mainieri if he wins another championship.

like saying you’d still want PM fired even if he wins the CWS again this year?

I mean isn't this a ranter's wet dream? For coaches to win national titles AND get fired?

One of my previous sig quotes was "The perfect LSU season for the typical Rant poster is for the team to go undefeated, win the SEC and the National Championship and the head coach gets fired."

Funny how the same postards that wanted to see Orgeron gone (and Miles before him) for not winning titles are willing to praise Pulmonary despite not winning titles. Okay guys, is winning games "okay" at LSU or do we measure our coaches by championships? Please, stay whichever course you choose!

Paul has had a lot more success than either Orgeron or Miles. No one wanted to fire Miles for not winning national titles. They wanted to fire him for not even competing for divisional titles anymore. Paul won an SEC title not even 2 years ago. It took Miles 4 years of not competing for divisional titles before firing him became a hot topic

Not a single active coach in college baseball has more than one national title. It's pretty hard to win one. If all coaches were measured on national titles alone, then people such as yourself wouldn't be happy with anyone that's coaching in college baseball today. But I do appreciate the comedy fake tough guys like yourself bring to the board.
