That was a great series win, but the hitting needs to be addressed. Way too many strikeouts. I do think pitching will continue to improve, but we need our guys back on the mound.

I agree. But these young spuds just don't get it. They want 5 titles per decade because they know Skip did that. There aren't any Skips available! Mainieri wins and keeps us in the hunt most seasons. Now I would love to go ahead and win this 2019 title. That'd be sweet!

If you’re still worried about strikeouts then you’re still stuck in the 90s.

This isn’t your granddaddies baseball anymore. We’ve learned that strikeouts don’t matter as long as that number under the R on the scoreboard keeps going up.

You see we have this thing called data now. It’s rarely ever wrong and it says that strikeouts don’t matter.

It’s just another out and a deep count strikeout is actually preferable to a shallow count line out.

Is that why you started a thread a month or so before this season started asking about upgrading your Alex Box season tickets??

Nope. I’m good. I still don’t like Paul as our coach. 2 wins aren’t gonna do it. A championship wouldn’t do it.

Nothing has changed. You mark that down. He Is no different than smoker he may can get you there but he ain’t going to win it again. Paul has worn his welcome out.

The "only" advantage of a deep count strikeout is to run the pitch count up on the pitcher but there is no production from it's form of out versus a sacrifice bunt or sac. fly. Making contact and putting the ball in play "makes" the defense make a play and there's errors that come into play versus a strikeout.

Bertman's Assistants were much more qualified, than Mainieri's.

Like Beetle Bailey who he found as a principal of Denham Springs High School? Or Dan Caniveri, wonder where Skip found him...oh yeah, he was a former player of his at Miami. Mike Bianco, oh yeah that’s another former player of Skip’s. But you’re right, Skip really hit the trial hard only only hired super qualified assistants and wouldn’t dare simply hire former players

....or did you just make that statement because you have no idea what you’re talking about?

He's only won one championship blah, blah, blah. If he wins one this year, that's still not good enough.

You’re getting downvotes tonight but two nights ago you would have had several upvotes. This fan base is beyond fickle.

I'm gonna have to agree with my little buddy LSUBEATLES on this one. The dude puts out a great product that can win it all every year. He ain't no Skip, but who is?
