What? I’m not sure what his role during the game is, but I doubt he’s preventing coaches from doing their job. If anything, he may be freeing them up. Or doing something that they may not trust a 22-year-old GA to do. I don’t think he’s butting in and overriding Sloan on play calls. Or telling Hankton which WRs to rotate. That’s absurd.

We just beat the #4 team on the road - and the game really wasn't as close as the final score indicated - and this is your complaint? If him wearing a headset continues to help us win football games then I hope he continues to wear one.

Boy oh Boy man its not a complaint.. Im asking what is he doing with a headset on and he's jumping in front of position coaches on the sidelines yelling things at players. Im just curious what he is actually doing, not complaining

He was given an on the filed assignment from the head coach. Thats the only way you get in that position, the HC said you will be there.
He is a bright guy, we pay him a ton of money and Kelly thought he could handle an additional task. Thats it.

That is very possible. However, Kelly was forced to bring AT back by Scott Woodward. So its possible AT could go over Kelly to get a pair of head sets since he is Kellys boss's main man. Not likely, but it would be hilarious if so.

I could see him trying to learn as much as he could ftom what Sloan, Baker, Kelly and the others are saying and doing.
You think the headset communication between coaches on the filed and coaches upstairs is about talent evaluation? You think Austin Thomas knows more about player's talent level from watching recruiting videos and attending a game or two than the coaches who are on the field with these players putting them through all of the testing, drills and reps they go through in practice? Headset communication during games is about strategy, execution and adjustments.

With the impact Austin Thomas has had on this football program on multiple occasions I don’t care if he tells BK he’s taking over as head coach for a game or two. LSU never needs to let Thomas go again. He is probably the best in the country at what he does.
