Again, the SEC is escalating a fight where they have much, much more to lose with fairly tight odds. This is a stupid play by the conference. They are willing to risk blatant RICO violations to fight a one-year problem involving 7 players.
They need better advisors

Is this relevant to the SEC's case that they can create and enforce whatever rules/regs they want, and that membership is voluntary? That's their stance. Doesn't really matter here what they consider professional. It's should they be forced to not hold accountable a member institution for violating their rules.

Their stance is they can’t define what a pro is outside of the US, and increasingly it’s being shown they can’t prove what that is in the US either.

They are effectively trying to create a shoe-horned rule targeting these specific players. Sankey's testimony is likely going to cost the SEC some $$$. The timing if their lawsuit against Lane is laughably bad, too, and not for us.

Even if he did, there is no law or rule that would be broken by doing so.
