Embarrassing for us...
And those teams I mentioned made the tourney at large.... a big difference than a Milwaukee who gets hot and wins their tournament.

We had a C team that brought their C game to an A League (SEC). It’s where the big boys want to play. Those other teams have a B team playing their A game in a C league. They’ll never make it far consistently. LSU wants players that want to play in the SEC. To be the best you have to play the best. When we have a team like we did this year just a little off we’ll get our rear ends handed to us and we did. I prefer playing in the SEC.

I don't think anyone is saying "it's perfectly fine and acceptable". It's more of the fact people are giving Johnson the benefit of the doubt that this year is an EXTREME outlier given the fact he has won 2 NCs in his first 5 years at LSU (Corbin is the only other active HC with multiple NCs - who, coincidentally, also missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time in nearly 20 years).
If LSU is bad again next year then you can say a very worrisome trend seems to be taking place. But for now, this is more likely a very disappointing aberration for a program and HC that doesn't have a lengthy history of such.

Little rock got an auto bid for winning their tourney and coastal got an at large, has been consistently great for over a decade, and has one of the best coaches in the game. How is it embarrassing? And why specifically those two teams?

Team wasn’t good enough to get out of a regional even if they made one. Would rather this light a fire under Jay and Co.’s arse than accept mediocrity of making it to next weekend.

Nice list of teams that aren’t similar at all. Coastal & Little Rock aren’t in the same class. The Cajuns have made the tournament more than Liberty and Tx State combined.

I am disappointed as well for not making the post season! But do you think any of the teams you mention would have made the tournament if they played the same schedule LSU played?

Hate to admit it but it will be a much more relaxed summer, especially after watching this team play.
