How is he still here???

The way he handled the Chavis contract negotiations was the first time I realized what an amateur he is. He was either trying to low-ball Chavis or he was trying to force Chavis out. I don't think he should have been meddling so deeply with the staff in the first place. In any case he seemed completely unprepared when Chavis bolted because we were in a mad scramble to find a last minute replacement.

I dislike Alleva more than anyone but the Patrick Murphy ordeal wasn't really his fault. I'm friends with Alyson Habetz, the assistant coach at Alabama, and that situation was a last minute change of heart where they felt an emotional tie to the team and the incoming recruits and decided to not leave Alabama.

Umm no. Dude has single handedly fricked up so many things.
I am not advocatingfor alleva and would not mind him gone after the Will Wade situation bsased on what is known at this time. Just hope the don't amke some politically correct choice over an experienced person at a major player who might stay for 15 to 20 years. ( hint, hint).
However, he is not to blame for much of this:
1. The Tiger Stadium concessions - agree to the extent it was his choice
2. The Les Miles situation - Pres Alexander caused this
3. The Jimbo Fisher deal - King did not want to pay his demand
4. Ponamsky’s Notebook - who knows
5. The parking for football games - may not be his decisions
6. Tailgating - Does not affect me so no posiiton one way or another
7. Keeps letting Mainieri hire former players that weren’t that great when they played - Greatness as a player is not a criteria for hiring coaches
8. Trent Johnson hire - Solid choice at the time
9. Johnny Jones hire - Depends on who else was interested, not the disaster many claim but was not as successful as hoped
10. Nikki Caldwell(Fargas) hire - any school in the country would have made this hire if there was an opening including Tennessee
11. The Patrick Murphy debacle - thats on Murphy, but we sure cannot cry over the second choice
12. The whole Will Wade suspension situation -AGREED!!!
13. Horrendous PR over and over - Overstated
14. Allowing Ed O to campaign for John Bel Edwards.....on campus - was he consulted beforehand?
15. The Florida hurricane game shitshow - More SAnkey's doing, LSU was going to be he heavy no matter what unless they showed compassion for the hurricane ravaged state
of Florida

This is completely false, Alleva is 100% at fault. All Sankey said was if we didn’t reach an agreement by a certain date he would make the decision for us. Alleva should have not agreed to anything and let Sankey decide. I bet he wouldn’t have made us play UF at home 2 years in a row
Also the WBB coach is 100% on Alleva. He is the one that continues to renew her contract

Shortly after the Florida hurricane game fiasco, I saw Joe outside the gates at an LSU baseball game. I called out "Hey, Joe!" To my delight, he turned and waved with a huge smile on his face. He probably thought, "See! I DO have fans!" I walked up, shook his hand while looking him in the eyes and said, "Go frick yourself." He was crushed.

One can only assume that after numerous leaks and the public catching on, that Alleva was carried off the floor by fellow administration, prompting the board to keep Alleva on. Better luck next year.

Alleva has taken tailgating out of the hands of the fans that built this program and turned into corporate fest. It is all about keeping the game day experience only for those willing to pony up instead of it being about the average man. He has created the culture of money first fans second. I for one have been saying this for years, and nearly every move he makes in regards to game day experience backs this up.
In what way has he taken tailgating out of the hands of the fans?

2. Proves he is a coward and caved to pressure from media.
5. As AD it is his decision.
6. As stated, his decision to turn tailgating into corporate fest.
8. But it wasn’t a good hire. So an at the time statement is irrelevant.
9. Spend money and make someone interested, hiring a coach who barely sat above .500 was clearly never going to work out.
13. Understated. Guy made 2 coaching changed, claimed He WAS the search committee only to hire a guy on staff, then completely changes his tune for basketball. Legitimately every thing he said for football hiring he said the opposite for basketball. This further proves he is clueless.

What facet has been turned corporate? Are you referring to the block party? Because actually the footprint of that tailgate area was a demolished building. So technically no usable tailgate space was taken.
I think LSU tailgating got way out of hand and needed to be reigned in. People are complete slobs and the campus became overcrowded and destroyed after game days. The amount of resources that had to be poured in to get shite back together was crazy.
Also if LSU needs to continually upgrade facilities they have to generate revenue somewhere. Why should it be allowing fans to come in and throw a free party, trash the place, and receive ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in return. It just makes no fiscal sense to do such a thing. May as well reap some benefits from the usage of property and facilities

I don't care if he goes, but the list has some inaccuracies.
15 should be included as part of 10. He handled the overall situation fine, it was a massive PR flub that led to us being the bad guys in the situation.
Regarding 7, most of those "hires" have been unpaid assistants.
Johnson and Fargas were decent hires at the time they were made that turned out bad. I'll give you the Fargas extension as a bad move.
How do you fault Alleva for the Murphy situation?

name the coaches with better credentials who wer just waiting for LSU to call.
All of these coaches look great in 3 piece suits when they have had success usuallya t mid major levels. Sometimes you hit ona Will Wade sometimes you don't- look at coaches Auburn, Alabama, Tennesse , even Kentucky ( Gillespie ) hired over the last 10 to 12 years that did not work out despite aprior success.
