i dunno, maybe because thats what persuaded BK to take the job?

So lsu cannot get a great coach without paying!

wut?

thats the only way lsu will ever attract coaches to the swamp nest

not sure what your argument here is? unless you think Cooley is a "great coach" deserving of a big salary increase

My point was it doesn’t matter if we give a coach 5mil. 8mil. 10mil. It doesn’t matter to you or I. You made it sound like it’s a bad thing we have to pay big money to get a great coach.

I don’t think Scott goes after any of these. I think it’s Drew or Musselman. But that’s just my opinion.

Coach K will be available here shortly. If we can’t talk him out of retirement, there’s always Vitale who has always had special place in his heart for LSU basketball??

What a shitty list! They won’t even come here. LSU’s athletic department has shown they don’t give two fricks about being a big time college basketball program. They are fine finishing in the bottom half of the SEC year in year out.

There is very little chance the ban would be that long. Zona only got 1 year. Max 2 years for LSU but really think 1 year is most likely.

I think it will be longer than arizona. That team is already back on top.

Lsu can do the same. They just have to hire the right coach.

I just can't see how Muss would leave Arkansas. He has them on the way up and beat LSU 3 times this year.

Drew would certainly be interesting, not sure though why he would leave his perch either.

Won't be him. If he ends up being the hire then the search failed miserably.

We can discuss who would or wouldn’t come but it seems Scott is one the greatest salesman in the world. Nobody had any idea Kelly was even vetted much less accept the job here.

Why would Kelly leave Notre Dame with no roots in the south? Never say never with Mr Woodward.

Why would Musselman come here... Arkansas is a better bball job than LSU. Drew would be my 1st choice but I don't see him leaving Baylor like Mulkey as his BR connection is not nearly as strong as hers. We would most likely have to give Drew Top 5 money and idk if that is even enough.

I’m thinking with LSU already forcing Wade to not coach before and then firing him before the ncaa tourney we have a little leverage. I think it will be 1. But 2 is being thrown around.

Arkansas and LSU are almost identical in bball programs.

I know for a fact Woodward did not like Wade, who, for better or worse, was brash, arrogant, and largely dismissive of the administration

I would say you’re dead on accurate with this.

It's really not even close. Forget about the fact that Musselman made twice as much as Wade this year, but have you seen their basketball performance center? It's less than 10 years old, 65K+ square feet, everything you could ever imagine under one roof. Our setup for basketball (weight room, practice gym, coaches' offices, etc) is a joke.
