If Scott is going the Home Run Route, he's going to need to pay upwards or over $6 million a year with at least four years guaranteed. He's also not going to be able to do that with a coach already making north of $4 million.

Whats wrong with Konkol ?

Louisiana connections mean less in basketball because if we want to do anything we'll have to be heavy out of state. He's a perfectly fine coach but SEC basketball is a bear now. Decent coaches like Frank Martin and Mike White can't hang anymore, Crean couldn't even get off the ground. Feel the same way about Kennedy. Yes, LSU is a better job than Ole Miss but the SEC is also way better now. That Marshall Henderson year, Kennedy's best season, only three SEC teams made the tournament and Ole Miss only got in because they won the SEC Tourney.

I would talk to Murray States coach for sure. He's doing something right.

LSU is going woke with this hire. Currently only 2 in the SEC. SW is gonna find the best minority coach he can find and throw $$$ at him.

This after the Kelly hire I heard from a couple of people Tate let Woody hire who he wanted for football but when they got rid of Wade he had to hire an African American

Anthony Grant is a great guy and an excellent defensive basketball coach. That he does better at mid-majors is likely related to his reputation for being as squeaky clean of a recruiter as there is.

If Woodward wants to get as far away from the scandal as possible, Grant is certainly that guy. Not sure he'd really recruit at the level to be better than middle of the pack in the current SEC.

We can hire Tang. He’s been Drew’s bag man at Baylor for a long time.

Talent level will be solid.

I'm thinking maybe LSU and the NIL could help get grant some better players than he had at bama. Not that they were bad but he was missing on top level guys, maybe the money bag boosters can help out.

He wouldn't be my first choice but may be one that fits what LSU needs/looking for.

Why isn’t bob richey on the list?

BOB RICHEY
School: Furman (5th season)
Age: 38; Hometown: Florence, S.C.
Career record: 111-46 (.707)
Previous work (assistant): Charleston Southern
Accomplishments: Has won 20-plus games in four of five seasons at Furman. … Has finished no worse than third in the Southern Conference and led his team to the NIT in 2019 when it was ranked for the first time in school history.
Could it happen? Maybe

Not that it matter but maybe it does- he is dark skinned

Nowhere has Woodward hired an “up and coming” young coach from a non-major program. Nor has he hired any “young” coaches (under 40). I know for a fact Woodward did not like Wade, who, for better or worse, was brash, arrogant, and largely dismissive of the administration (things I, personally liked about him). So look for him to hire someone completely opposite

Woodward has hired only established big names, not up-and-comers like coaches at North Texas. I expect a big and surprising name. Who here expected Mulkey, Kelly and Johnson?

CWW had one of he lower salaries in the SEC at 2.5 mil/year

Cooley salary is 3.4 Mil/year

Who cares how much money we give a coach? Seriously why does that even matter.

So lsu cannot get a great coach without paying! No team can.
