No concerns?

Well right now it's too early to determine who will be mediocre or not. They could go on a run and make it to the tourney. But I am a little concerned about the slow starts and Wade should look into that. Other than that sometimes you need those wakeup calls.

Against Liberty we shot 46% from the field and 36% from deep. You’d want that first number to be 50%+ but there’s nothing wrong with 36% from deep as a team. They’re not a great outside shooting team but they’re more than good enough to win a ton of games.

This is a terrible thread by Freek, who is always negative. That said, we were a legit Final Four team with Miller. We are gonna miss a scorer who can get his own shot at any time. I think we may have to pull the shirt off Justice and see if he can add another dimension.

Yeah learning how to overcome adversity and get a win is overrated.

I said they have some work to do on shooting and against better teams, it could become an issue. But I think this team is clearly better on defense than any of Wade's teams in the past and they will get points off of turnovers when struggling on offense otherwise.

I think they said 2012-13 at the end of the game but I didn’t check to make sure.

I posted this last week and got yelled at.

You’re supposed to wear your purple and gold glasses when you watch the basketball team.

Don’t ever disrespect WW.

Got to play more inside/out through Reid/Days/Eason. We can spot up enough good shooters to hit open 3'd but we need to run our O through the low post more IMO. Too many wild 3's tonight but dang..we play haaaaard defensively!

I agree. Easily, the General’s best team and who gives a damn on defense. Will rack up a lot of wins on this alone.

I agree. Exactly what I said in the OP.

Correct, Reid is talented down low. Use that to our advantage.

The 3’s tonight weren’t even close. It was kind of alarming

I don’t even think this team has many guys that can even “get hot” & go on a streak

Exactly.
It’s Days or bust.

And we’ve seen enough from Days throughout the years to know he’s as streaky as they come.

It was unlikely this was going to be a good outside shooting team. But the reality is MOST of Wade’s LSU teams have not been very good from deep. That said, if the trade off is a MUCH better defensive team I will happily take it. LSU can find scoring inside, at the FT line, in transition and on the offensive glass.

Tonight wasn’t an issue of simply being a bad shooting team. It is that they settled for 3’s for too long. Once they began attacking the rim and getting to the FT line they were much better

Bad shooters taking bad shots is not a recipe for success. I really think Wade should sit these guys when they take bad shots. He has the depth to do it now.

The D and the technical sparked a comeback and then LSU started hitting every shot, raising that %.

So should they stop counting stats in the last quarter of the game?? Makes sense.

LSU won’t shoot that poorly from 3 for the rest of the season imo. That was awful. Shot selection was really poor from both 3 and inside the arc tonight.

Offensive rebounding and getting to the line won the game.

Team will grow from this game imo.
