Projected third round pick, lefty arm who can also hit.
So what will he primarily do for LSU?

Sounds like a pitcher that we'll talk about being able to hit/play two ways but never will.

Those kind of pitchers eat LSUs entire lineup alive.

Unless he could come right in and be an elite hitter, I probably see him primarily a pitcher this coming season since Jay needs some good lefty pitchers and the fact that the lineup already looks stacked as it is for next season.

I think he’s gonna struggle with a 55 MPH fastball in SEC. My 11-year-old throws in the 50s
For the sake of your father and your son, I hope you aren't serious.

This seems like an obvious troll. But I'm not sure if it is.

High leverage lefty reliever

Exactly why it’s so awesome 10/10

Those are grades, not ball speed. And fairly good grades at that.

Is joke yes?

If the bats we already have are as strong as they project, hopefully all we need from this kid is lefty reliever. If he’s good enough as a 2 way player then I don’t see why in the future he can’t do both. As long as he only pitches in relief.

Thats friggin awesome. Jay is doing work this offseason.

Kiley McDaniels’ mock on ESPN has a clip indicating Hirschkorn is a tough sign for MLB. Fingers crossed. (List looks promising for Vanderbilt also.)

Of the top-ranked players who aren't in this projection, it's almost entirely high school prospects with tough signability that could push them to college. RHP Coleman Borthwick (Auburn commit), C Sean Dunlap (Tennessee), SS James Clark (Duke), SS James Tronstein (Vanderbilt), RHP Joseph Contreras (Vanderbilt), LHP Bo Holloway (Vanderbilt), RHP Bryce Hill (Stanford), and RHP Jensen Hirschkorn (LSU) are real threats to end up in college.

He will pitch. The 3 scenarios where he’d hit are :
1 lsu needs to fill a void for underperforming or injured players. They have a ton of hitting depth, particularly LH. Do they need him to hit?
2 he’s a generational hitter. Think jac Caglianone. He’s just too good where he forces your hand. Is he too good not to have in the lineup?
3 he totally bombs as a pitcher & shifts gears
Basically it comes down to what outweighs the risk of jeopardizing a 96mph LH arm with an elite secondary (elite by mlb standards, not just HS).

Is there an mlb team or scout thank I can talk shite too about our NIL money taking him when these guys used to not come to campus?

I cannot wait to see what Moffit can do with this kid.
Posted on 7/11/26 at 10:19 am to Lester Earl
Yea he clearly has a much clearer path to playing time as a LHP than a LHH given the current roster. And obviously you rarely see 2 way players at this level. However, I will say that a situational lefty would probably be the best pitching role if you wanted to be a 2 way player.
This is just a general statement as I don't follow children's sports and know nothing of his abilities aside from a few twitter clips I've seen the past couple days

I don’t know what LSU has planned for him, but I’m confident going out on a limb saying his bat will be undeniable and too good to keep out of the lineup.
On the mound he’s not a strike thrower. When he loses the zone he loses it BIG, also gets a ton of whiffs in high school on pitches that aren’t strikes but the stuff is so tough on high school hitters that they chased a lot.
The kid is an animal though and if he is able to command the zone then you will be getting griffin herring with much better stuff which will be a fun time

I’m the mom, and it was a joke. Seems like a pretty obvious one, too.
