Lexington: Fun town. Great bourbon bars and Red State BBQ knocked it out of the park. Keeneland ran out of booze because of us. Haha. True story. The downtown bartenders loved us and our tips. Said by far the worst fans they encounter are Gators.

The game: made the UCLA game look enjoyable. Nuff said.

Kentucky fans and their radio shows: Vince Lombardi once said “act like you’ve been there before.” The fans were not bad but cocky and a little smartass acting but I’ll take that over what we deal with at other SEC schools. I think next Saturday night they will eat humble pie. The radio hosts were just as nouveau arrogant as well saying Kentucky is building themselves into a football school. That’s all great but once these players graduate and Stoops gets offers from big name schools, order will be restored.

Overall trip was worth it even with a depressing game.

Most of the SEC East teams have so much better cities than West teams.

Knoxville
Lexington
Athens
Nashville

All of the above are great towns with so much to do and see.

Lexington is a great trip especially this time of year. Cool town and horse racing/auctions are fun.

Are you suggesting that Baton Rouge, Starkville, College Station & Tuscaloosa don't stack up favorably?

Nouveau arrogant fans are the worst kind. They have no tradition to back it up. They can't act like they've been here before because they haven't, so they don't know how to be win with grace. They'll come crashing back to earth next Saturday when UGA beats the shite out of them in Athens. They beat a very bad and very poorly coached LSU team last night.

Best part for me was how they handled the National Anthem. I never heard so much participation. Was a proud moment for all who were there.

Yeah, that opera guy starting the Anthem then backing away and leading 60k+ in unison singing was pretty great.

Big-boy football starts for them next Saturday. I think a reality check is headed their way.

We had a great time all around, but this is the first time I have ever had a potential physical confrontation with a fan and I have been to almost all the teams in the SEC.

Older guy in the stadium. We are used to younger fans making comments, cursing, and messing with us. I have never had older fans acting like jackasses. Other fans around us told the 50-something to leave. I told him this wasn't basketball, they have never made it to Atlanta, so no reason to act that way.

I have to agree about the Anthem. I also have to say their announcer is irritating, but Borne definitely needs to retire. They do not have football traditions, but if the did anything the piped in music would kill it. They play better music then we do, but play it all the time, and played it over everything.

Could not hear their band, but the halftime show made them look worse than some LA high schools.
Concessions are better, large popcorn, but nothing special. Could not bite the bullet on the Skyline Chili.

Bengals game was great, but the trashiness of Green Bay and Cinci fans is worse that the Saints. Must be a ton of in-breading in Wisky.

I was there with a friend as well. Keeneland was awesome as always. Only problem was they limited attendance to 20k because of the work shortage. Kroger field is a decent stadium, however I could've done without the piped in cheesy Kenny's Key West music. Also, not alot of choices at the concession stands, and no alcohol? WTF?? Some fans were cocky, especially the younger ones. I do agree , about next week. UGA has too many good players, with a lights out defense.

So you're saying Kentucky football fans are like LSU basketball fans when we beat Kentucky in basketball? Neither is a blip on the radar to the other in their biggest sport.

Agree. My first time there and will definitely go back. I was impressed by their gameday atmosphere. Not a bad seat in the stadium and they did constantly pump the music. Don't remember their band playing during the game. We had a Kentucky fan in front of us the entire game. Got a kick out of him. Very passionate and always talking about how good this player or that player was but he never said anything bad about LSU. At one point a female Tiger fan behind me asked him to sit down ( he stood the entire game). Kentucky had just got a 20 yard gain. he turned and said, "that's ok, we just moved the ball upfield 20 yards so now you can see it" with that Kentucky drawl. Was hilarious. After game I told him to enjoy it because won't get too many chances to play an LSU team this bad again. Their fans were very nice to us all over the campus. Did have a cop at an intersection directing traffic and he said very loudly " frick Kentucky, Go Tigers". I'm assuming he was from LA at one time? Totally caught me by surprise.

Had 0 problems at UK, but some some bengals fan yell frick New Orleans in my face…

They were yelling who dey and someone stated they stole that from NOLA. I simply said correct (not in a rude manner) and this guy goes off. I calmly asked him wtf did he just say and he laughed and elbowed me in a jokingly manner. I guess because I was wearing an LSU Burreaux jersey he considered me friendly. I’m polite. I’m not friendly…

I still don’t understand what that was about.

Meh, I’m cheering for them. It’s good for college football and it’s about damn time the East was competitive.

Not the same thing. At least LSU was won SEC championships in basketball and made some nice runs in the NCAA tournament. UK hasn't sniffed the SECCG in football.
