And finally the sec is too tough and too big to be playing 260lb 3-4 ends and 210 ilbs if you don't realize that there's a huge difference between an upper level sec defense compared to a second tier big ten defense then you don't know a thing about college football

I know one thing. His smaller and less talented defense kicked our O Line's arse for 3 1/2 quarters in 2014. If their MLB doesn't get hurt, I'm not sure LSU makes the big comeback. But still, they didn't have ANY problem shutting us down with even smaller guys than we have.

No idea what you're getting at here but Sheppard and Minter played at around 240-250 pounds while at LSU.

Last time we ran the 3-4 we had Faulk and James inside both around 250 and those boys could ball

Dorsey was not drafted into a 3-4.

KC was a 4-3 team. Drafted Dorsey and fired Def Coordiator later. New DC made Dorsey a 3-4 DL, which he had trouble with. Dorsey was a killer 3-tech 4-3 DL but KC had too much money invested.

Posters on here that think we have a bunch of de that can drop in coverage are stupid.

What makes you think that Arandas defense requires DE's to drop into coverage. Neal, Godcheaux (or Locoture if he plays DE), Herron the rest of our DE's won't be dropping into coverage much, if at all.

Now our OLB's have to drop in coverage at times. Key, Divenity, Bower, Thompson, and Thornton and the rest of the OLB's will drop into coverage but not the DE's.

our roster this year and in recent years seems much more suited to a 3-4 than a 4-3

He was listed at 245 as a Junior (last year with LSU), and he weighed 246 at the 2013 NFL Combine.

?

What year are you referring to?

Bradie James Bio

Played first three seasons at Will linebacker before moving to Mike linebacker as a senior.

James was a senior in 2002-03. He moved to the middle after Trev Faulk left -- Faulk left early after the 2001-02 season.

That's right -- I'll switch Dorsey to the 4-3 group. I had originally started with JWill409's list of players, and Ferguson and Williams immediately jumped out at me as not belonging in that group. I've been thinking of Dorsey as a 3-4 D-lineman for so long -- I forgot he played one year in a 4-3.

That leading up to the seasons before either started at Mike, LSU fans on this board said they were too small.

That's what I'm getting at.

When people were saying Minter was too small I reminded them same was said about Shep. Now I didn't think Minter was going to have the season he had, I just figured he would still be fine playing there.

BTW, Minter is listed at 225 for 2011. The year before he started at Mike.

Of course LSU sports isn't really accurate. But only two linebackers under chavis were ever listed above 240 between 09 and 14, Minter and Beckwith. And Clifton Garret, but he was a wasted scholly.

shite. I'm sure Aranda and Orgeron knows how to get the most out of Neal.

I hate when people say this shite. Nobody can ever have a simple discussion bc there is always these people. What's point of the rant then. You can basically use that for any scenario you bring up. I mean Johnny jones knows more than all of us

Haha well technically he does regardless of how the rant feels about him. I used him to prove point. Bad coaches know more than the rant so why discuss lineups in basketball or anything for that matter lol

Not entirely true the rant probly has a few coaches on it hs or otherwise and just because he coaches at lsu doesn't mean he knows more than a hs coach. His hiring and career has been politically driven and in no way based on his productivity
