this...bigtime. the man has earned that chance. what many people just refuse to acknowledge is the disastorous effect the dismissal of RP has had on our program. damned if you do...damned if you don't. life ain't easy and Les is on the clock (no pun intended).

Becuase the idiots in the athletic department just keep doling our TAF dollars out to underachieving coaches, and if we have to buy these guys out next year, making that price all the much steeper.

Top 1/4 of TAF points........
Do you even pay for season tickets? If so, do you enjoy going out there on a Saturday and watching mediocre football for your money?

Prove it
If your in the top 1/4 of TAF points I would think you would have more to do than post on a message board, JMO
I do pay for season tickets but Im not on here bitching about every little fricking thing I can find wrong with the program or the head coach so I don't count

I don't have shite to prove to you.....
Neither am I, I gave him a pass until the Ole Miss game, because at that time it was clearly apparent that he is in waaaaaay over his head. Even though the Florida effort was putrid for a big game, I gave him a pass......had some bad breaks in the Bama game, no biggie......
But to bungle the OM game like he did is unforgivable, and then to follow it up with the crap that ensued at the Penn St. game.....no way.
And to throw in for a bonus, we couldn't even put in a dominant effort against Louisiana Tech or ULL.

Why keep criticizing? Just bringing down LSU.

I'm legitimately curioius about this and I'd like to explore it further. Are you saying that by bashing right now (after 2009 season, before 2101 signing day) you want to acheive a change in coaching? If so, what do you think the odds of you being successful at that is? Or, are you priming the pump to increase the odds of coaching changes next year? Plan on going on a year long crusade or something like that.
Cause, I'll admit I'm torn. On the one hand I get some evil enjoyment out of comming on here and watching the internet equivalent of peoples' heads exploding over this. (Though it does get tedious even for me to read). On the other hand, I can't see any substantial benefit to it at all. And I agree that to some extent it is contributing to bringing down "LSU" as in the program, not just the current coaching staff.
It certainly seems like people high up in TAF would have the influence or wherwithal to seek their objectives in other ways. And in a manner more likely to yield positive results and less likely to yield negative ones.

The sad thing is that "lawyer" doesn't seem to know how to write. But I do see his point of view and affirm those feelings. But I don't think it's prudent to fire Miles at this time. He earned quite a bit of time with the '07 NC, albeit an unusually lucky scenario. His luck is running out and I would say that if next year we see no progress and another "MIM", he should be terminated at the end of the season.

kind of weird to see an attorney reference himself as a "lawyer" like that

What makes you think that? Why will next year be any different from this year? If he goes 7-5 and wins a bowl, he'll still be here in 2011. Four million fricking dollars to go 7-5 every year. LSU administrators are absolutely the dumbest frickers on the planet.

This is called the rant for a reason.......people come here to vent. Would you like it if all we had were kumbaya threads, and we were celebrating that Curley Hallman, Smoke Laval, and John Brady were still coaching at LSU?

Tiger-n-Atl:
Unfortunately though, that kind of scorced earth policy can have ramificatons well beyond Miles tenure even if it does take that (I don't think it does as explained below) and even if it works.
I don't think I can agree with that. The dreaded VOC has already been issued. I think 7-5 would be it. Especially if things like season ticket renewals, concession sales and licensing revenue take a hit.
Bottom line is I don't think there really is that much of a difference of opinion on Miles insofar as I don't think there are that many 100% pro Miles people out there anymore. I think the difference of opinion is on the time, place and manner of expressing concern in ways that do not hurt the program itself in the long run.

That's what I'm trying to understand. It is just to vent? Or is it to try and bring about a change? Or is there a divide amongst the bashers? Not saying one is right and the other is wrong. But knowing might help me to understand what I sometmes see as irrationality.
And to me, the Rant has always been a fun place even when there were not a lot of griping about the coaches. There was alays a Flynn/JR thread or a Hester/Keiland thread, complaining about the refs here and there, trash talking with other teams fans, etc. And for the off season, there's always the OT.
