Dear Joe.

LSU will lose money for Western Kentucky. Please budget accordingly.

Please dont write us next year complaining about fan attendance for games against weak opponents.

If you really think this will change the amount of tailgaters then you're crazy. People love LSU football and will pay whatever.

LSU has spoiled you with free parking. Quit bitching - time to pay the piper.

As long as they sell the tickets, it doesn't matter.

Its 120 for a season pass to UGA games in their parking deck which is half the cost to park the same distance at LSU. There is no point system for it. First come first serve. Hell you can even park near the stadium for free at UGA on a First come basis.

Where is this at LSU?

Do we really want tailgating at LSU to be like other SEC schools where it sucks?

Do I think tailgating will change for games against Florida or Alabama or AU? NO.

Do I think campus will be dead for games against Western Kentucky other than areas with season parking passes? YES

I'll be there... Just like I was for McNeese and Monroe this year. I show up for all home games..

Who needs a bunch of bandwagonners who only show up for "important" games.

Last time I went to Auburn in 2000, I parked on campus for free. I guess things have changed if you're saying it isn't anymore.

Does the parking increase even apply to you?

I do find it funny that the majority of people saying things like that have season parking passes which many people would love to have.

WTF does it have to do with a bandwagon in any way?

There are people that have been fans far longer than you in times FARRRRRR worse than now that are on fixed incomes and will be priced out of the experience that that have loved for years.

Makes good business sense. Please stop bitching people. Get a job and get off TigerRant if you need more money to pay for the parking.

This is a good decision.

It isnt.. I just talked to my bestman that was a UGA grad. He said he has never paid to park on campus and its cheap to park in the areas that do charge.

People are just using the 'its like this everywhere in the SEC' as pure BS excuses and provide nothing to back it up. I gave a link that shows a parking garage not far from the stadium is 120 for the entire season. Same cost as LSU is charging people to walk a mile and park in mud and half the cost of parking at the same distance.

Yes, it applies to me. I park in the hay lot as i have said in earlier posts. I have no season parking pass. Which you're right I would "love to have". But I don't and I will pay my $20 each game next year and be glad I am in tiger stadium.

what else do you want me to call the people who will only show up when the game "means something"?

I don't doubt that at all.

Like I said, if it's that close then, maybe this isn't something you should be spending money on in the first place.

Nobody parks on campus at UGA because the downtown area is right across the street from the Campus and has tons of parking. Therefore, there is much, much less of a demand to park on UGA's campus compared to LSU. UGA would struggle charging for parking because people would just pay $10 to park in the downtown area.

But Athens =/= Baton Rouge.

No one is arguing that cheap parking is available off of LSU's campus, so your little diatribe is wrong again.

Check Alabama and Florida's parking situation and get back to me.

If tailgating is the problem why not license tailgate space. You pay a nominal fee each game to rent space and a nice sized cleanup deposit. Keep tally of areas not left as clean as they were and dont refund the cleaning deposit. Make the dirty birds pay for their own clean up!

UGA Parking: Already covered..

Auburn Parking:

quote:

several places about 1/4 mile from the stadium here too. But most of these lots charge $15-$20 to park.

LINK

For 400 yards away at AU is 15-20 to park this year.
Thats certainly acceptable.

Anyone got other SEC schools? Havent found one yet that charges 40 yards to park on gameday or 20 to park 1/2 mile or further out.

I dont have an issue paying to park I just think their price points and charging in lots that are long walks is absurd.

Hey dumb arse I was responding to:

I just showed that its CHEAPER to park at UGA and just showed it cheaper to park at AU too.

Can anyone find ANY SEC team that charges $40 per car to park that isnt a season pass?

Any SEC stadiums charging $20 to park 5000 feet away?

Why couldnt LSU just make it $15-20 to park close and $5-10 to park and walk?

That seems more in line with the average to park at most venues.
